Improvisations are intrinsic to the spirit of earlier King Crimson, so it will be good if there are those even if there aren't new songs per se.
I hope they go heavy on the surf rock this time.
Sounds good! I hope this is a sign of them playing new stuff on the tour and eventually recording another album. As excited as I am about seeing them perform the classic stuff, I really enjoy hearing bands play new material live.
The shows are billed as "past, present & future". Don't ever recall Fripp stating it would only be old material, or only pre-Belew material or anything other than going back over the KC catalogue to determine what would be played. He really left the door open in my mind.
"Henry Cow always wanted to push itself, so sometimes we would write music that we couldn't actually play – I found that very encouraging." - Lindsay Cooper, 1998
"I have nothing to do with Endless River. Phew! This is not rocket science people, get a grip." - Roger Waters, 2014
"I'm a collector. And I've always just seemed to collect personalities." - David Bowie, 1973
This better not suck - this whole evening is gonna cost me at least 2 bills, possibly 3 because Sussman and Captain Cabesa along with 9 other cats are going. NYC will never be the same. It could get ugly.
Hold on to that menace and sense of entitlement. I think it will really open you up to the musical experience.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
I tend to agree with me as well!
Some other folks on the Hoffman site picked it out immediately as well. (http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/thread....358881/page-8 - scroll to bottom)
If it's not intentional, it's highly coincidental. I think they might have chosen to leak this particular clip since it's a bit hard to ID (that particular section wasn't included in live versions back in the day).
I hope to hear LtiAI at the show...! we shall see.
What's Mast'o, chopped liver?
Where's Pat?

After the Venturing Unto Joy Part 1 clip went live earlier this week, Gavin Harrison took and listen and said to himself "Hang on, that's Pat Mastelotto on drums as well!" A phone call from Jakko to DGMLive Towers then pointed out the error in the shownotes and listing details, which have now been amended. Our apologies to Pat for airbrushing him out of this particular Hot Tickle KC moment.
Well. That's what three drummers sounds like.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
That photo that goes with the clip is pretty funny. Fripp's now doing fist bumps and stuff like that.
