It's a very good record. Go ahead and pick it up, man!
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
Classic debut, although I prefer the following three.
Quirky stuff between early Mothers, Softs and Caravan - plus some Burt Bacharach and David Axelrod.
Great, great band!

Good album, agree. Zappa&Mothers followers.
I listened to this one this morning:

Nice intro to the band though they're better in the studio.

I bought that Long Live Supersister double vinyl, and it mainly consists of live versions done in a radio studio. It is excellent, and very true to the original versions 'though introducing some eager spontaneity as well. I think they were a solid concert act.

PfN is my fave with TtHB...
I find the next three too strange...
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Supersister are probably going to be my next purchase. I really like this song. A somewhat jazz inspired pop song with some interesting harmonies that turns on you about half way through! Too bad it's a single; not on any of their albums (though it's a bonus track on the remastered debut) -

I recommend Pudding En Gisteren and Iskander. Though my favorite remains Present From Nancy, - 1st side especially. Lovely band, - not great, but quite enjoyable.
"She Was Naked" was their debut single - and a major hit in the Netherlands in late '69, practically serving as an exposure for the band whose status had stayed very strictly underground up 'till then. "Radio" and "Higher" also became minor chart successes, but the main forte of the band was as a touring unit; they made extensive trips to both France, Germany and the entire Benelux, and visited the UK as well - with some apparent luck (John Peel liked them well enough).
The singles weren't only included on the remasters, though - they were already in place on those 2-on-1 CD issues from the 90s.

That was a hit?!? Only in the 70's ...

Big fan here. Not mentioned yet, but my favorite studio release is To The Highest Bidder, their second, those it's sure is a close call. I very much recommend 2001s reunion live album Supersisterious too, covering all their first three albums in live versions that are often better than the original. The revisited Wow is especially funny if you can understand Dutch. I'm offering to translate!
I love this one is but my favorite is To The Highest Bidder
This isn't the one I have, that's 'To The Highest Bidder' and I believe the latter is more favourably regarded. Although somewhere in the 90s there was a 'twofer' release of the first two.
Musically they strike me as a slightly smoother version of what Soft Machine were doing on their 2nd album. 'No Trees Will Grow' always knocks me out, great playing!
As noted, John Peel released their albums on his label Dandelion in the UK. Bear in mind this is a label that also released an album by a well-past-his-best Gene Vincent, and then later one by Clifford T.Ward, to get some idea of his eclecticism.
I think the only Supersister album that was released on Dandelion is To the Highest Bidder. Did the others get released as well? I don't recall ever seeing them if so.
I'm curious, how does the Universal release compare to the Esoteric in terms of sound quality?

The Esoterics sound more eloquently and meticulously "filtered" to my ears, at least. But I've kept the 90s twofers too, seeing how they contained some stuff which never resurfaced on the Esoterics.
Oh, and the Memories Are New 1971 recordings are wonderful as well; more of their "pop" side, but with an orchestra and displaying that Goffin/King and Bacharach influence I mentioned.

Thanks Spyros for confirming!
Funny - today I realised that I actually heard them live at Roskilde Festival in 1974.
I googled Roskilde Festival 74 today, and found that one of the bands I liked then, and remembered , was from Holland, and was in fact Supersister, and they then reminded me somewhat of Soft Machine, but wasnt quite up there. I remember their bassplayer had a red Gibson Les Paul bass with low impedance pickups (not a common instrument).
This album is incredible. Thanks for bringing it to my attention PE! First time I've been 'blown away' in a long time. How isn't this band massively popular in prog circles?

It is. How is it you've been hiding under a stone?
Seriously though, if you like this one, chances are you will like To The Highest Bidder even better, and you'll probably really like Pudding and Gisteren too. Although Iskander is somewhat different, that one is good too. I always praise the 2001 live-album Supersisterious, but that one seems out of print for ages. PM me if you want me to Dropbox it.
