    I think Jeff Lynne improved as a songwriter as time went on. Yeah, things got more poppy and less "ambitious", but I think in this case, it was to the band's benefit. Having said that there's a few songs on those first three albums that are pretty good, as is.

    Ween - The Mollusk

    It's a tongue-in-cheek send-up of prog concept albums, but it also has some legitimately great, proggy tunes. Even the cover was done by Storm Thorgerson.

    I'd say The Mollusk is a must-have for any prog fan's collection.

    It Bites-Once Around The World
    They retrospectively had a reputation as a prog group based on that album alone but the other two weren't very proggy.

    Among Suzanne Vega's albums, it's debatable whether "Solitude Standing" or "Days of Open Hand" is the more prog one. I'd probably say DOH (no pun intended). Half of each (and probably more than half of DOH) is fairly prog, put all those tracks together and you've got a full prog album.
