"LA" is the name of the 6th degree of a musical scale. Remember "do ray me fa so la ti do" from The Sound of Music? Ever wonder why "la" is the only one that gets any attention? Well, just for fun, try replacing it with any of those other syllables in any of these tunes and you probably won't wonder anymore.
