Today is the anniversary of Frank Zappa's death. This is a thread meant for tributes, commisserations, etc., and I really think it belongs on the main board.

WOW... RIP Frank.
Be a loyal plastic robot for a world that doesn't care... Frank Zappa
Words don't do justice to how sad and pissed off I am that Frank left this earth far too soon.
Coincidentally, I'm spinning Hot Rats in my car.
I'll play the album at some point as well.
RIP
In Frank's memory I will be performing the Studebaker Hoch Dancing Lesson and Cosmic Prayer for Guidance.
Afterwards, I will be playing variations on that marvellous little arpeggio, the MudShark....
RIP Frank.
Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit
Bummer.
I like celebrating FZ's birthday a whole lot more.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
RIP. Don't forget, his music lives on forever.
Always important to remember Frank year round, and especially today. Can't say enough about his music.
I got the recent remaster of Freak Out at Best Buy for $9.99 last night. I'll spin that for Frank later.
Yup... a lot of his compositions are gonna live way longer than we will.
He died a year after I was born, but I sure do miss him...

RIP FZ. The memories of those Palladium Halloween concerts will never die. Always wondered where all the goodies brought up to the stage those shows are stored.
"I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about."
- Peter Griffin ("Family Guy")
Man, what a way to bring me down. I've stated numerous times here that, while John Lennon is my musical hero, I miss Frank more than any musician. Perhaps it's because I never got to see John and was lucky enough to see Frank five times. Nothing beat those opening minutes at Frank's shows when the band started playing and then Frank walks on stage. Once they launched into the first tune, they rarely ever stopped. Those shows were all special in their own way.
Anyone want to share their most surprising moment at one of FZ's shows? Aside from the Beatles Medley, I'd say it was when they launched into an instrumental of "Let's Make the Water Turn Black," at one of the Pittsburgh shows.
