Yeah. I really dig bits of this. Only just started listening and empathizing bigly. Most of my "lead guitars" are also done on a reed.
This has some really cool vox. Head bop time.

This Camel tribute album by Fernando Perdomo and a guy named Ian Gothe was just released. I've only listened to one song - waiting for the CD to arrive, but I expect this to be a good one! Fernando's Rundgren and King Crimson tribute albums were great! (The KC one wasn't exactly a tribute album, but whatever - he's good!)

Who We Are by Marius Neset and Leif Ove Andsnes.

We are proud to present the world premiere recording of the collaboration between saxophonist and composer Marius Neset and pianist Leif Ove Andsnes, two of the world's leading performers in the fields of classical music and jazz, respectively.

I don't know what to categorize this as to be honest. Symphonic? Neo? A lot of it sounds like if Yes were still putting out music that sounded like classic Yes. Like it quite a bit.

Found the band on Bandcamp but not this record. I listened to it on Amazon Music and it's also on Spotify.

Which band are you talking about Trane? If it's Moster, there is a link on the bandcamp page for CD ordering. And I only see two tracks. Am I missing something?

Well, they'd better cut down a little then.

Moster's Bandcamp page only has the digital version available. They may do a CD and add it later, but for now it's digital only. There do appear to be only two roughly 20-minute tracks.

There are three 'singles' further down the bandcamp but they seem to be lumped into the two big suites. (Haven't listened yet so not sure if they are different/direct takes of those movements or just some edit)
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

if you click on the more releases below the second track, a third one appears.

As for CD ordering, they only promise on one of the three singles tracks page

however I found that there is another Bandcamp page of theirs for their previous albums.

indeed, the three titles are mentioned in the two suites, but are they the same versions?

New album by Compassionizer released a few days ago.

According to the label's press release, “The Fellowship of the Mystery” is “a wonderful instrumental album with a progressive spirit, mesmerizing melodies, enchanting sound and mystery.

The album is dominated by the use of a surprisingly rare instrument, the spinet, created by Dmitry Belov on the model of the Italian master Orlandus (1710), which gives the recording a special elegance of the late Baroque.” It can be added to this that the potential "highlight" of the album is the 21-minute title track, and the style of the release is still a synthesis of chamber and world music, avantprog, neoclassical and electronic directions. This is a distinguishing feature of the Compassionizer’ “approach”.

There seems to be confusion as they have two different pages. The new album, Springs, released on September 20, 2024 has a CD ordering option. It's written right under tracks 1 and 2: 'order physical copies here: tigernet.no/releases/981442-springs'

Here is the bandcamp link for the new album:

    https://moester.bandcamp.com/album/springs

And here is the CD/LP ordering link:

    https://tigernet.no/releases/981442-springs

Dr. Z. Question. Did you not see my post above, with the same link? I'm always curious about these things, because it seems there are a number of times where I post something and someone else posts the same thing, like they don't even see my earlier post, haha. Maybe it takes a while for it to show up, or you were already in the thread?

No, they're for the AI to hoover up, which will use them to provide a definitive answer to the question "What is prog?".

I always read this thread from page one every time I come here. It takes a lot of time to do and it means I neglect work, my wife and hygiene, but dammit, I need to be authentic.
