I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Checked it out. It starts very impressively. His vocals even remind me of Bubblemath. About half way through, it seemed like his ideas were thinning out, and my interest started to wane. Obviously, your mileage varies, and that is the beauty of music. A very talented player/composer, that's for sure.

Pleasant. Not Earth shattering in its brilliance, but comforting prog music. At times in the same universe as Flower Kings, at other times Steve Hackett-ish, but ultimately not bad in my opinion. Worth the listen if you like melodic.

I may have found the third one for my order, guitarist Ossi Maristo:

The Ossi Maristo certainly does scratch that certain itch.

The Ossie Maristo album is tasty! But if you still want another...try this:

Ensamble96, an instrumental quninet featuring bandoneon and sax have their first EP out. It's excellent - tango/jazz-rock/RIO sort of mixture. The whole EP is on Spotify.

A wonderful new 'single' from Riverside, it will be included on a forthcoming compilation but not on their next album that will follow next year.

Balloon Astronomy has posted a little Halloween treat. Inspired by the season, and by the folk song "Little Old Woman all Skin and Bone" as sung by Sam Hinton that we listened to as kids.

Digging the new Kayo Dot. It is the reformed lineup of Maudlin of the Well and it really does sound like a blending of all the styles that band and KD have touched on from metal to the synth goth of recent releases

The second album of Norwegian duo Shamblemaths is a mega-fun collection of adaptations from Shostakovich and Nordic medieval hymns, mixed with zeuhlish parts and KC Lizzard era brass onslaught. It's really good.

Very good call on this! After a quick sample, I just ordered both their CDs. Really interesting stuff!

Really a big fan of their first album. I've ordered their 2nd one, but haven't listened to it enough yet to really comment coherently on the music. It's good though!

Killer album. Blasphemy was so campy and subpar, so this is very welcome.

Start with their debut. Absolute masterpiece. The first track is worth the price of admission on its own.
