A new (an very interesting) band from Argentina: Nameku Música

  2. #4177
^^^ This record, so typical of Argentinian sensitivity, is just wonderful. There are even hints of Astor Piazzola in there. Thanks! (once again...)

Confusion Field from Finland just released a new single Secondhand Escape from their upcoming second album. A bit more uptempo than the first album.

Wow, fantastic! Not sure I'd classify it as particularly "avant," as there isn't that pervasive dissonance. Definitely complex and multifaceted Prog Rock, though. Right up my alley. I'm in for sure.

This is from the bass player of In-Dreamview, a band I really enjoy, whose Spires album was one of my favorites of 2022. Their stuff is fantastic as well, though from the bit I heard, I might actually like Eyeless Owl better.

I recognize the main man from Sun Colored Chair & and Wxyz, the later being much more math brutal avant stuff. I'll check out that In-Dreamview too.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Τhe Caravela Escarlate - III is out, and whoever does not buy should be banned for life from PE. Your mind will melt and become syrup when you listen to all these keyboards out of your speakers.

Auto-buy for me. I'm not sure how I missed their other CD, but your earlier post made me aware of it and I grabbed it. I've really been digging it! Can't wait for this new one!

OK, so this is double post, but I just realised I initially posted it in a thread on the "What's On, What's New" page (that is probably not read by that many people). So posting it again here:

Well, here is something that is not new, but I missed until now. A Tarot-related EP from Ghost Rhythms that came out last April as a subscriber-only digital release. BUT, non subscribers can still buy it for the sum of €3 or more:

Of course it is great so you should buy it. As an added bonus, if you buy anything from Ghost Rhythms Bandcamp today they will also give you a download code for Murmurations, a full length live recording from last November that is otherwise subscriber-only.

    New Utopia strong live recording:

Now download only as the limited vinyl sold out right away, like usual with this series.

You weren't lying about this! I listened once, bought the download, and I'm now listening to it again. It's like they used every cool synth and organ sound ever (and 'tron), throughout the entire album! And while it sometimes sounds Scandinavian, it also sometimes sounds like classic Italian prog. It's a fascinating blend. Definitely sepia-toned.

I forgot I had their first two already! That is for the heads up.

I wonder if I’m not the only one to have so much downloaded music that I forget what I have. Too much music, too little time.

Mammal Hands (March 31st) & Squid (June 9th) have just announced new releases, pretty excited about both.
