Rachel Flowers new album and I was hooked from the beginning. Symphonic and jazzy. At certain moments I hear Zappa, Flower Kings, Magenta and a host of other influences. However, I don't find it imitative - just wearing its influences. The songs are well-written. She sings and plays all the instruments. Quite a work. Below is the Bandcamp link with some songs for free listening. It's also on Spotify in total for those who subscribe.

No matter what anyone says, you are the decider of how you will listen to music.

Not me... I'm unsure if it's Bob Lord, the bass player, or not. He's the one that notified me about it.

I'm impressed with how much she releases while still managing to keep the quality so high. Another one onto the wishlist.

Short of time I haven't checked if this was posted (you can shoot me of course if it was, it's not going to be the first time). Chicago band Partner gives us a blend of Canterbury sounds, Van Der Graaf Generator and late 60's experimental folk, jazz sounds and the result is surprisingly exquisite. Strongly reccomended, I think plenty of people will dig this.

Nice! Let's embed for those that don't like to clicky:

Vinyl and download only, it seems.

EDIT: Ben Billington is one tasty drummer. I'll be looking out for his work.

Sup! Today, I published my newest album - The Cheese Void.
Recommended for fans of synth driven retro/symphonic prog and 20~ minute epics.

    Love the synths!

Are the Bandcamp WAVs 16 bit or 24 bit?

A Magenta EP featuring three new songs, and some remixes of those songs. There's a brief, but touching, back-story about why the band went into Real World studios to record these songs, which is included in the notes on Bandcamp.
