Rachel Flowers new album and I was hooked from the beginning. Symphonic and jazzy. At certain moments I hear Zappa, Flower Kings, Magenta and a host of other influences. However, I don't find it imitative - just wearing its influences. The songs are well-written. She sings and plays all the instruments. Quite a work. Below is the Bandcamp link with some songs for free listening. It's also on Spotify in total for those who subscribe.

No matter what anyone says, you are the decider of how you will listen to music.

Not me... I'm unsure if it's Bob Lord, the bass player, or not. He's the one that notified me about it.

I'm impressed with how much she releases while still managing to keep the quality so high. Another one onto the wishlist.

Short of time I haven't checked if this was posted (you can shoot me of course if it was, it's not going to be the first time). Chicago band Partner gives us a blend of Canterbury sounds, Van Der Graaf Generator and late 60's experimental folk, jazz sounds and the result is surprisingly exquisite. Strongly reccomended, I think plenty of people will dig this.

Nice! Let's embed for those that don't like to clicky:

Vinyl and download only, it seems.

EDIT: Ben Billington is one tasty drummer. I'll be looking out for his work.

    Love the synths!

Are the Bandcamp WAVs 16 bit or 24 bit?

A Magenta EP featuring three new songs, and some remixes of those songs. There's a brief, but touching, back-story about why the band went into Real World studios to record these songs, which is included in the notes on Bandcamp.

Explosive new fusion album from Fernando Molinari. Great compositions that lean towards rock, stellar production and some high-powered guests such as Marco Minneman. And if you are into bass...well, look no further as Fernando puts on a dazzling display of both fretted and fretless playing with his arsenal of custom F Basses.

Hey everyone, today we released Isobar II, the follow-up to our debut last year which made a few people's lists for favorites of 2020 and was tied for The Fire Note's progressive rock "Debut album of the year". Available from the usual prog distributors. Hope you like it!

I was happy to see the email about this this morning! I'll definitely be listening, and probably buying. Definitely, if it lives up to the debut, which was/is excellent. Congrats! (Social Meteor is a great song title!)

nice. I own them already but good that they are back in print.

Yesterday it must have been crazy with the selling of the CD; my paypal blocked so I couldn't complete my purchaise.
Today no trouble at all. I'm just re-listening to the first one. Too bad there's so much good music to listen to, because this one deserves more attention. Yes, that's indeed a luxury problem.
    Good luck!

Want to relive the 90's when you had a flashing red light in your collection? Well now you can! Pulse is coming next Feb, I was lucky enough to be there the night at Earls Court that was filmed.
    https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/lates...ox-set-re.html

On February 18th, 2022, the Restored and Re-Edited version of Pink Floyd's P.U.L.S.E. concert film (shot on 20th October 1994 at London's Earls Court) is set to be released as a 2 Blu-ray or 2 DVD deluxe box set, with the return of the flashing LED on the spine (as seen on the original 1995 CD release) powered by replaceable AA batteries! These deluxe packages include music videos, screen films, documentaries, rehearsal footage and more, along with a 60 page booklet.

On Pink Floyd's social channels, they mention that, in an interview from 1995 with Mojo Magazine, Nick Mason talked about the flashing LED. "Essentially, it's a device which we thought was entertaining. It's an idea of Storm Thorgerson's which related to Dark Side and the pulse, and it's a live album so the box is "alive". After that, in terms of seriously deep meanings, one might be struggling a bit."

The original flashing LED package is much loved by the fans, and the initial announcement video leads with the blink of the light. The new box sets will be designed for easy replacement of the 2 AA batteries; the UK release in 1995 was powered by one AA, but the packaging wasn't designed in such a way that it was easy to change without some damage, albeit internally, to the sleeve. This time there shouldn't be the same problem!

The original battery in my copy leaked, ruining the terminal. I made a half-assed attempt to fix it, but it never worked again.

This probably has its place in the Japanese thread but since it is a new release, maybe worth mentioning it here as well:

Kumorigahara - S/T (2021) - the entire album is on YT but here are two songs, just for your entertainment
