Thread: New Releases Only

David Sancious releases a new recording and nobody here lets me know? Come on! I count on this thread to learn about these things.

Sorry you missed the thread about David Sancious in which the new album was discussed slightly: https://www.progressiveears.org/foru...light=sancious

B.t.w. the re-release of True Stories, which was supposted to have some never released tracks, is postponed. Those who pre-ordered it got their money back (at least I have).

"Mother Earth" - New from Ray Wilson

It's all right. I just find the lyrics really obvious.

Well it's out now, and I think it's pretty great. I was regrettably forced to purchase the CD.

^^I'm curious. Why were you forced to buy the CD? And glad it's out!

I was forced to buy it by my inner demon that wants me to buy CDs.

Has anyone listened to the new album "Earthsong of Silence" by Wax Machine? I think it's a pretty good little album for fans of trippy, oddball, prog-tangential stuff. It has elements of a bunch of different genres with some weird, creepy moments and a somewhat retro sound. The album feels like I'm sitting around a campfire deep in the woods, on acid, in the 1960s, but actually it's 2020 and we are unaware that we've been dead for 50+ years, eternally sitting around the campfire. Haven't seen much about it online.

Hey, thanks. I'm really digging this. An amazing laid-back psychedelic vibe. I'm feeling good just listening to it!

And if you are digging Wax Machine, mylard, you would probably like the new Magick Brother and Mystic Sister, too.

^^That is sounding sweet. For those wanting a full album listen, it is on bandcamp. Quite a world wide array of guest stars, including the seemingly ubiquitous Marco Minnemann and Frank Gambale. But wow, $25 US is the most expensive I've seen for a digital download, so almost $33 Canadian!!

Ι like this a lot. It's even better than Magick Brother, Mystic Sister that Neil rightly associates it with.

Really enjoyed this album of Symphonic Prog. Long instrumental passages, motifs that appear from song to song. Busy at times and that requires attention - it's not really background music.

Fervent Send - "Dietro La Soglia" (2020). This is band with US and Mexican musicians. Nice instrumental prog, as much as that is a cheesy way to describe good music.

The new one from Crippled Black Phoenix sseems to have slipped quietly out into stores a couple of weeks ago, but a shout out here won't go amiss.

If you're a fan then you'll definitely enjoy Ellengaest, but if you're new to Crippled Black Phoenix then this is the album to check out. Especially if you're into the music of Anathema, Jonathan Hulten or Se Delan.
