^ Haven't been able to get a copy of Across The Ridge...yet (at least here in frownland) and they are already coming out with a new one.
Sounds good
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.
Cool! http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/AS-10 mentions indeed Jan. 30th. as release date.
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
North Sea Radio Orchestra have released a collection of tracks recorded between the demise of the Shrubbies in 98 and the release of the first NSRO album in 2006

I've followed these guys for many years. Glad to see something new. Also at https://metaphorprog.bandcamp.com/releases

I have Starfooted, and although I haven't listened to it in many years, I do recall liking it. So giving this new one a listen now on Bandcamp, and I just think I have enough music in this style to keep me happy already. The drums seem pretty plodding, too. I wish them luck, but I'll probably sit this one out. How would you say the other releases compare to Starfooted and this new one?
So I'm listening to the O.R.k. album Ramagehead on Spotify - this is my first experience with this band. The singer loves both Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley. That is the vibe I get from what I've heard so far. I also hear a little bit of David Sylvian at times as well.

Mongrel dog soils actor's feet
Another band that escaped me until now: Professor Tip-Top from Norway. Thanks to Progstreaming, I was able to discover this band. I don't hear much ground being broken. The music is pleasantly melodic and occasionally anthemic (although I would call it epic). Very much a 60s psychedelic influence throughout leaning towards Pink Floyd. There were a couple of songs where I got the notion that it would be what the latter-day Monkees would have sounded like had they become a proto-prog band.

My only other recent discovery (new to me) is Evership. There is no new ground being broken here, but they can write a darned emotional melody. The singing is terrific too even if I occasionally hear a Dennis DeYoung thing going on there. This is very pleasant comfort prog for me.

Digging the new Sunwatchers album. Instrumental rock with electric phin and sax. This is their 3 album (not counting collaboration w/ Eugene Chadbourne playing Minutemen covers), and easily the best of the bunch. There's even a cool Alice Coltrane cover on it.

Disen Gage have a new album out called "The Big Adventure" now available on Bandcamp. At present download only, although one site mentions a CD at the end of Feb. Early indications are that it is a good one -a return to written tracks -the last two were largely improvised, soundscape albums, but on this and their usual guitar instrumentals are enhanced with a couple of guests on accordian and cello.
Pretty tripadelic concept from the Cobalt Chapel fowks:
https://regalworm.bandcamp.com/album...-cobalt-chapel
^^"The 'Variants' album by Cobalt Chapel. A massively cosmic/hallucinogenic reworking of the first Cobalt Chapel album. The compact disc version is dressed in a very green and pleasant sleeve."
From what I hear now and have heard from the original album this is indeed quite a reworking.
What is your opinion of this new band - The Third Project? If to choose something there listen to the title track and/or the 4th one - The Sea of Slaves.

Thanks for checking, these were exactly my thoughts
Btw, download is the best way to get these with a good (best) quality sound (wave, FLAC, MP3 and others) ... and it only costs less than $2 for the whole album. There is no release of it on a CD or vinyl, at least not yet. I have made a CD-R of it to have a physical copy, at least till it gets a proper release.
Kinetic Element - The Face of Life
I would have no idea about this band if not for Progstreaming. There is zero ground being broken here as this is pretty standard stuff that might have sounded a tiny bit fresh in 1994 (or at least refreshing). I'm not saying it's terrible - it isn't. It falls into the category of "comfort prog".
One thing, though. If you have a song that starts with multi-part harmonies, make that the opening number to the album rather than the song where the singer is pushing a melody-line that is two notes and has a voice that reminds me of the middle act of a three band show at a club. Musicianship is good but a better singer would help.

weird recording/production. Sounds like it was taken with mike against old cassete player. everything just crammed into the mix, over the top... not my cup of tea. Singer trying to hit high notes, missing on a few occasions... Guitar parts are too indistinct, amateurish... As far as Poland is concerned they have far better outfits: Lizard, Dianoya, Quidam... working in that same realm. My view tho...
