I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Hermeto Pascoal - No Mundo dos Sons

After 15 years with no new recordings, Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo are back with a new CD.
Probably one of his best ever! The band, after recording sessions, started t call this as Heavy Hermetal.
Very intense, complex, but, even if, harmonious and melodic music

not exactly new but this is pretty darn good. The Wood Demons - The Lost Domain (EP - 05/23), kinda folksy at times with a strong nod to some classic prog.

If Facebook is managing to translate Russian successfully it looks like the new Vezhlivy Otkaz album "Военные Куплеты", "Military Verses" will be released in November. Hopefully Altrock will be distributing it in Europe & USA.

Now I understand it took so long before he released a new album: he had to play all the instruments himself

    This is from the CDBaby-page:

    Album Notes
Born in Baltimore, Maryland drummer Carl Hupp has created an instrumental CD in which he plays all the instruments. This CD includes 11 original compositions and 2 cover songs, one by progressive rock band King Crimson entitled "Discipline" from their 1981 album of the same name and also a classic guitar piece by Steve Howe of Yes entitled "Mood For a Day" from the 1971 Yes album Fragile. If you like Yes and King Crimson you are sure to like this new release from The Carl Hupp Project.

Not bad, at all. A bit of a Camel vibe, very smooth and pleasing to the ear.

yes, this was posted in another thread... very cool stuff!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

He told me he just sat down in his basement noodling around and wrote and recorded this cd. This one is 180 degrees different from his first.
