It's out as of Friday. Really cool. Lots more Mellotron and Minimoog action. Henry J. Osborne plays bass on six tracks. Big Tangerine Dream vibe going on with this one.

have you guys heard that new Cosmosquad-Morbid Tango. That is new benchmark in heavy aggressive fusion. Aristocrats should observe that quietly! Jeff K is my man now...

I like Vermont's first album. It's interesting to notice Jaki Liebezeit plays on it.

I saw them on tv twice(both times on Last Call with Carson Daly). They are pretty intense. Good band. The funny thing is there are no "girls" in the band.

I believe Little Atlas released their most recent studio album in 2013 (it's quite good!) but are still active. With Cobweb Strange it has been a bit longer, but I hear there are talks of some new music from them as well!

For lovers of Aranis, Utopianistimi, and other acoustic folk and classical based bands, try the new album OPUS from a Danish band Afenginn. Very talented musicians on brass and various instruments, and some vocals. On Bandcamp at https://afenginn.bandcamp.com/ or save postage and currency fees at the US vendor CDRoots.com

CDRoots says: "With mandolin, violin, clarinet, vibraphone, piano, bass and drums, Afenginn have combined the mystic melancholy of Scandinavian folk with the rhythmic energy of Balkan music." On Opus, they add guest artists on cittern, strings and brass, a choir and solo vocalists and move ever forward, with a bigger, almost orchestral sound, and a big vision for music that spreads out over two CDs and over 80- minutes of rich, complex music. It really is their opus."
The Culture Cafe, Sundays 6-9am on WWUH-FM
Broadcasting from the University of Hartford, CT at 91.3FM, streaming at www.wwuh.streamrewind.com and at www.wwuh.org
