I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
I second that Woo woo!!

Third the Woo.
Also, a tin teardrop.
I'm kinda hoping for the FSE to display moore of a relative "discrepancy" from their predecessor band than SGM did with Idiot Flesh. But I think I'll pretty much love it all the same.
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
How many members in common between SGM and FSE?
Four, Nils, Dan, David and Michael
it's basically SGM minus Carla's violin and vocals and the original drummer replacing Matthias.

^ In a sense I was always hoping they'd take Moe S. back into the fold as well, as he brought a level of (apparent) spontaniety and general (additional) zaniness to the whole deal. Still I'm getting exceedingly fired up with anticipation as regards the FSE. They've certainly been grinding the contents of that upcoming release for quite some time now.

Got this last week and for those who expect a second Battlement: leave it. Thomas Neuroth, the only original member, has found a new love in the Classics. Three songs are interpretations for a rock-orchestra from works by Clause Debussy, Camille Saint-Saens and J.A.P. Schultz, while the other compositieon are in the same classic-rock vein. A bit like The Enid, although slightly more synthetic.
Here's a real good new Italian band playing Jazz Rock Prog
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene 3 was just released this week. Sounds pretty good.

^^Hey, this is really cool stuff. Dark, ambient, and with some rhythmic bite. Thanks for posting.

On the album the band is made up of Lorenzo Di Prima (bass), Paolo Busatto (guitar), Marco Busatto (drums), Marcello Sambataro (keyboards) and Luca Ardini (saxophone).
The bass playing of Di Prima is a real highlight. The album has had a number of good reviews
