This new one is a bit more experimental, I'd say. But the very fine orchestration of voicings remains, as do the mellow melodic patterns and harmonies. It's just a bit more dissonant than the first.

My god this is absolutely fabulous. The music is written for the combination of the vocals and the small acoustic ensemble. Think Aranis + Bulgarian Women's Choirs. I got it at www.cdbaby.com
Thanks a lot, Zeuhlmate. How did you learn of them?
I'm danish and longtime friends with John Sund. There is actually a reference inside the booklet to me, since I introduced John to the choir
I had heard the choir live 4-5 times, and my wife attended some workshops with a few of the choir members.

I could add that the choir 'Glas' has a homepage, facebook and there is also some stuff on the tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiaUMlSmAd8 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-77_LcWrBm0

I did not even realise that this was not a debut disc. I liked some of what I heard but at the end of the day there were too many vocal parts for me. I know I wouldn't get enough mileage out of it to bother purchasing it.

On a more self centered note the fact that all of the artwork on "Jongleur" and "Sunstone" was created by yours truly certainly increases my adoration for these albums, though I would love them at any rate.
Amazing artwork, it just adds to the gravity of the music, congratulations. Was just listening to tracks from The Golden King and yes, I will have several of their albums. The new one is up on progstreaming and is well worth the listen.

The PE disc just arrived in the mail. One of the most consistent artists in recent memory. His last 3 are top shelf stuff and I expect nothing less from 'Sunstone'. Review on Sea of Tranquility to come soon.

    Regards,
    Jon

I think this is gonna be one of "blues"-albums, but they are fine too ;-)

I call it "blusion." His first solo album (Dog Party) was pretty much straight blues, but with each subsequent release, more and more fusion was creeping back in, so much that you can't really call it blues anymore. No vocals on this one, though I'll actually miss Thelma Houston's participation.

The Brecker Brothers: The Bottom Line Archives: 1976

A previously unreleased live show with the original band (which included David Sanborn, Will Lee and Steve Kahn). I saw them in a long gone club in Chicago called "Ratzo's" around this time and they were smokin'!

Just heard that Vezhlivy Otkaz will be releasing a follow up to Geese & Swans, probably in December.
