just received (finally after all those holidays) Bjorn Riis Lullabies. Man, isn't it awesome! he knows how to make this guitar sing. Great production too (something that was lacking on Airbag-Greatest Show). A few heavier moments, especially on The Chase... and psychodelic too, eh!

Subterranean Masquerade - The Great Bazaar

Fantastic Record. The 10+ year wait seems all worthwhile after devouring this sucker today.

The new Hollow Branches ep "The Hum" was released as a free/pay what you want download a few days back.

Interesting coincidence: Hollow Branches and the aforementioned Subterranean Masquerade both featured Jason Walton as a session bass player on previous releases.

on par, if not better than Mind Transplant
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

From the "School of Always Something New", check out the new release by Tanya Tagaq - Animism. Using her spectacular voice, a choir, percussion and a synthesizer violin, she bring the sounds of the far north into your brain.
She won the 2014 Polaris Music Prize, beating Arcade Fire, Drake, Mac DeMarco, Chromeo, Owen Pallett, Tim Hecker, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan, and others. She wins $30,000, and in her acceptance speech, she encouraged people to wear and eat seals. "And fuck PETA."

    Amazing live show here.
The Culture Cafe, Sundays 6-9am on WWUH-FM
Broadcasting from the University of Hartford, CT at 91.3FM, streaming at www.wwuh.streamrewind.com and at www.wwuh.org
