Pasajero Luminoso play a pleasant and soft jazz-rock with great skill and emotion, yet not without bursts of complexity. Released in March of this year, "Pujol" is their fourth album and it can be stated that this Argentine band continued to discover new paths of elegance and musical expressiveness, firmly remaining within the idiom of 'progressive music'. In consequence, "Pujol" is a flirtatious record with a display of an ethereal beauty.

CRONOFONÍA evokes, through what we could call a
sound-theater piece, the story of a generation. By the
means of soundscapes, music and lyrics, the album
narrates a day in the life of a character who symbolically
embodies the experience of his own generation
(the effervescent youth of the years 60s and 70s of
the 20th century).
Set in our days, the piece becomes a remembrance of
a time of profound historical changes, an age which traces
left a deep mark in what would become today’s world.
This personal story is interwoven with the echoes of
historical events, and the sound of time passing by recalls
the life of a generation that, in those years, attempted
to rebel against social inertia and tried to contribute to
a different History, one that would open roads to a new
world, to a new dawn.

Annette Peacock's 1979 album, The Perfect Release has finally made it to CD. Released on the Sundazed label. I really like this one! Features former Jeff Beck sidemen, Max Middleton and Richard Bailey, among others. Also available on vinyl.

Her X- Dreams album has also been reissued. I found the other CD at a local store yesterday.
Sun Colored Chair's new album featuring plenty of experimental, jazzy, whimsy, mathy and almost hypnotic proginess that made this New York based trio so enjoyable. Although fully instrumental, "Seated" is indeed an amusing contemporary record with an admirably production and a wonderful musical trip that can't leave you cold.

Amarok (Spain)
Keido are a Finnish sympho-rock trio that consists of two multi-instrumentalists and a drummer. At their debut called "Tales for Sale" and released earlier this year, they offered a mixture of adventurous virtuosity, gentle melodies, interesting vocals and mature compositions that shine through a disciplined interplay. While creating their music strictly within the framework of the symphonic rock genre, Keido are still finding new ways to employ their keyboards arsenal containing WLM organ, piano, Yamaha V-50, Yamaha MM6, Casio MT-30 and Soviet synthesizer TOM 1501. In addition, there are electric and acoustic guitars, saxophone, flute, Nagoya harp, trumpet, bass & drums. In sooth, Keido brought a splendid sympho-rock that is entirely in keeping within the genre's best tradition as their debut is hymn-like bombast, pastorally idyllic, exuberant, lifted, weird whole-tone flutter and fantastical.

Jay Tausig is usually an electronic musician, but this is a really good collection of British folk tunes, very well done and recommended by me, Dr Zaius:
Buenos Aires' Vlad Tepes eclectic style incorporates influences ranging from the early 70's progressive rock, jazz-rock, psychedelic rock, funk, avant-rock and beyond. "Valses Elementales" has been released in April of this year, as their third album. A dreamlike atmosphere, incredible guitar solos, heavenly interplay between the instruments, dizzy tempo changes and awesome drumming, make "Valses Elementales" appreciable for a listening experience that is demanding, but also tempting as well as uncanny thrilling.

The beginning of the first track reminds me of a softer version of a Bi Kyo Ran song although I can't quite remember which one.

I got this recently from Wayside. Absolutely blew me away. For fans of instrumental Prog with a good dose of Fusion, has rocketed instantly to being my favorite release of this year.

Minnesota's trio K'mono has made an impressive debut album which is characterized by noticeably fantastical atmosphere, beautiful guitar work, elegant keys and vibrating bass that together with the powerful drums creates a pulsating framework. Chad Fjerstad may not be the best singer at these days' Prog scene, but this kind of music fits his singing style perfectly. "Return To The 'E' is almost entirely dominated by the pleasant melodies, the arrangements and sounds that are all beautifully created in the vein of the 70's progressive rock, yet with contemporary features.
There is an interesting Neal Peart quality to Andy Prado's drumming. Very nice.

What's the name of the band that recently released an album on Bandcamp that is basically a Uriah Heap sound-alike band, with participation from a (the?) surviving member of Heap? It sounded pretty good, but I wasn't up for it at the time, but I am now!

Maybe Blind Golem, from Verona? It's a former Uriah Heep tribute band that in January of this year have released a debut album called "A Dream of Fantasy" with their own songs in the style of the early 70's Uriah Heep and Ken Hensley appears at one song which is actually his last recorded output just before he died.
