I really wish they would reissue the Theatre Du Taur set.
    No humor please, we're skittish.

Everything Everything's new prog pop album is out today. It's called Re-Animator and it's pretty good.

    Ulver - Flowers of Evil

Sounds like a Depeche Mode knockoff with less variety in the sound.

^ Yes, this one is quite poor. Somehow even worse than the not very good Assassination Of Julius Caesar. I hope they are nearing the end of this path (which of course they have the right to do, yada yada).

Tic Tic - Comfort in the Echo

Artsy 80s synthpop redux. I'm seeing a trend. Here's the thing, I was a youth in the 80s and rather liked synthpop of various kinds, but there is a spark missing here. It's synthpop mixed with ennui and indie girl voice. Some might like it - I'm rather bored by it.

    Pretty but generic.

    Panzerballett - Planet Z

Highly creative Metal/Jazz/Fusion. Even those who avoid metal, should at least try their s/t debut. It is heavy, but not as heavy as they evolved into. If you like it, move forward chronologically until the metal gets to be too much.

The new album Planet Z is out, from their website. I have not heard it, but it is an auto-buy for me -- when it hits the US Vendors. Jan Zehrfeld has taken a more "guest-session" approach for this one. I don't know if the band members from the last 3 albums have moved on, or were not available for some reason. Joe Doblhofer appears to be back for the fall tour.

    Tracklist
    01. Prime Time [feat. Virgil Donati]
    02. Who The Jack Is Migger? [feat. Marco Minnemann]
    03. Mind Your Head [feat. Morgan Ågren]
    04. No One Is Flying The Plane [feat. Gergo Borlai]
    05. Walkürenritt [feat. Hannes Grossmann]
    06. Urchin vs. Octopus [feat. Gergo Borlai]
    07. Alle meine Ändchen [feat. Andy Lind]
    08. Coconut [feat. Marco Minnemann]
    09. SOS [feat. Gergo Borlai]

    Line-up
