    Keneally, Bendian & Lunn

    Greetings-

I figured it'd be ok to post this on the main page since there's currently discussions about Yes or Ian Anderson tours.

We went to see Mike Keneally last night with his friends Gregg Bendian and Doug Lunn.
Without giving away too many details i'll just sum it up with a hearty 'hell yeah'.
I've seen Mike enough times in different variations and have to say this trio format was
one of the best, these guys are all monster players and there were some great unexpected surprises
in the setlist. I would love to see this turn into a full fledged project.

Only bummer was this show was criminally under attended and yet these 3 guys played their
asses off and gave the impression they wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I highly
recommend catching this one if so inclined, and bring some friends too -

Progholio, what would you estimate the attendance at for the show you saw?

I'm the associate guest host for the Philadelphia show this Friday. Hope to see loads of you there!

I didn't want to give away too many details because this show was different than I expected which was fantastic for me, so I didn't want to spoil the party.
Definitely worth discussing once more people get to see the show.
I can say this - if you're in Georgia and the last in Kentucky (near Nashville I think) is within striking distance then I'd make the road trip. I'm guessing more things could develop out of these guys by the end of the tour.

    JKL2000 ask
"Progholio, what would you estimate the attendance at for the show you saw? "

i didn't do an actual count (i was pretty absorbed into the show) - my guess is about 30

Only two of those 30 were women. I know it's a stereotype that it's mostly men at these concerts, but this was the most extreme I've seen it. I'm not a huge Keneally fan, but I'm glad I went to keep Connie from being the only one.

The upside of this is you ladies had your own clean, private restroom - right down to assigned seating if you wanted.

In the interest of sharing information with those who want to know, here is a nice review of the show. For those who like to go in with an clean slate and don't like having surprises spoiled I would suggest not clicking the link below (in other words - spoiler alert).

Will be at the Philly show this Friday. I understand the place only holds about 200 SRO.

Also, can someone correct the spelling of LUNN's name in the thread header?

Technically I'll be in Baltimore for the MDF Thursday night, but the main band doesn't go on 'til after midnight...so if the stars align, I'm hoping I can do a twofer and hit Orion for this show first
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

So sorry they're unable to play Detroit. If they were playing anywhere within driving distance of Detroit that didn't require time off work or an overnight stay, I'd be there.

As of today, I'm working with the guest host, too. I'll be posting an update to Friday's show ASAP. We've added a KILLER support act to the show (besides the amazing Out of the Beardspace). Stay tuned ...

There's three different shows from this tour on DIME at the moment. It's a hell of a setlist. I'm giddy with anticipation for Friday's show. GIDDY, I tell you.

I unfortunately had to miss last Saturday's show in Chicago because I was working. On the fortunate side, I've seen Mike live three times. My favorite concert was the "Dancing" tour with the expanded (was it 8 piece?) band, but all of them were great! See him if you possibly can!
