Help me with with the 2014 ADRIAN BELEW headline tour

Lets say you are booking a tour for Adrian Belew. And you want to have an opening band in each city, but not necc. the same one every night. Maybe at most 3 or 4 gigs at a time, more "regional" bands. Full USA tour with some eastern Canada.
Bands that don't have a lot of gear and don't need a ton of money, but are good enough in this world and deserve to be heard and a nice gig.

Lets get some ideas going. Band name and city they are from

This is for Oct-Dec of this year

    Lets just pretend

I'm guessing there ought to be some fine talent in any major metro area - why not get a local band per location on the tour?

Body Parts in Los Angeles. They're quite young but already established with a local fan base, swag to sell, and a great Talking Heads / Adrian Belew vibe.

HOI are located in Dallas! I produced their first album, play Warr guitar, and live near Charlotte, but believe me it's a long drive.

To be honest, this concept was tried before by Sound of Contact. While it sounds good on paper, it seems like it could easily run off the rails. But, Mark Cook knows Adrian. Herd has recorded with Pat Mastelotto, Markus Retuer, and Gavin Harrison. I'm sure they'd love to do some shows around Texas with Adrian and his band. In fact Julie was lined up to guest on the last CD, but had to back out when Dream Theater called on The Crimson Project.

3rDegree or The Twenty Committee would be great for the tri-state area. Kinetic Element would be awesome for VA-DC-MD.

chumcloud-for sure, 3RDegree would be interested in being that opening band anywhere in the northeast

Stratosheerius would love to be considered as an opener for Adrian. Fiddle-fueled progressive rock!

We are flexible with money and being from NY, are used to setting up and striking down fast with minimal gear. We are based out of the NY area and can play PA, NJ, CT, MASS. I'm originally from Cleveland so some Midwest could work as well.
