I love it. The previous live album is still my favourite but this one is killer as well. I bought it the day it was released and listened to it in my air-conditioned apartment during a brutal Toronto heat wave two summers ago.

I prefer this one because it doesn't have Di Meola; Gambale is, imo, a much broader player capable of not just the tough arrangements RTF was prone to, but also with a more sophisticated jazz language he does a lot better playing on change-reliant tunes like Spain.

Add Ponty, and it smokes the previous live release, imo. I saw both tours, and the live releases only confirmed how I felt about the shows. The Di Meola tour was grand, I'm not saying that; but the Ponty one was grander

    Yes, you do need it.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

Its really good, AND it sounds like a real live concert.

But , if your a RTF purist you need the first tour also.
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone

Loved the tour and the live album. It's a shame that they all seemed to have moved on without recording any new material.

I agree with the other posts -- you need this. It's excellent in so many ways...performance, song selection, sound quality, etc.

Pure delight, with Ponty's Renaissance being a show stopper, and the crowd interplay with Chick on Spain also worthy of mention.

Man, I would LOVE a new RTF album with Gambale and Ponty.

Yes, terrific song selection. It's nice that between Returns and The Mothership Returns there is such a wide choice of tunes with only a few repeats. Some nice interview and live footage on the DVD as well.

Completely agree about "Renaissance". Less wild about that crowd interplay.
