The second one is one of the best I've seen from you.

The fourth is, ah, Gigeresque (and I'm sure deliberately so).

    Yes, the 2nd is excellent.
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound.

That fourth picture was commissioned as a DVD cover for the film "Variant". All the elements in the picture were directly taken from the film. I didn't realize how Gigeresque is was until someone pointed it out to me. So, I'd love to say that was deliberate, but it was coincidence...a happy little coincidence. Here's a look at the finished cover art for the film:

I wish I could play half this well. I think she's fifteen.

Some amazing playing, yes, but I have two real problems.

    1. How can you do the "history of rock guitar tone" and not namecheck Chuck Berry?

    2. The history of guitar tone did not end with the arrival of Eddie van Halen.

But, yeah, I wish I could play like that...

I'd say because she included or played guitar licks from players SHE liked and Chuck Berry might have been a bit before her time. Although being a musician I'm pretty sure she'd heard of him. I don't agree about Berry's tone though, sometimes he sounded out of tune or flat to my ears. I liked Berry and there was a good PBS special on him last week along with Buddy Guy. I assumed that the young girl above more than likely took guitar lessons and some of those songs may have been something she'd learned.
