^^^ They're very good players...but there's something mechanical about the performance.
    (Listens more.)
It's the rhythm. They stand straight on the beat like a drum machine. ELP were more flexible, with sounds coming in slightly before or after the non-existent click track to produce a kind of vitality that is, alas, missing here.
But they're still very good players.

I see that all the time with Zeppelin covers. Bonham always hit behind the beat, like the R&B drummers he adored. It gives the rhythm a slink, a swagger.

Great version of Green Manalishi. Recognized Mick Fleetwood and Billy Gibbons. Is that also Kirk Hammett on guitar?

Yes that is Kirk Hammett, and he's playing Green's old guitar that was used to record the song in the first place... and he absolutely smokes that solo IMO. One of the best things I've ever heard him play!

I always thought Green's old guitar was given to Gary Moore. I never heard (or didn't recall) what happened to it when Moore died.

Even an accomplished guitarist who can play the notes can't always translate the feeling of Peter Green's playing. Most of Green's blues songs came across as though Green fully understood the sadness inherent in blues music, and you could feel it in his voice and in his guitar solos. Green's playing on Green Manalishi could (suitably) elicit dread. Hammett does a great job.

I'm sure the guitar experts here would know more detail than I do, but as far as I recall Moore sold it and Hammett later bought it and even showed it to Green who didn't think it was the right one due to some cosmetic changes that had occurred over the years.

Not sure it is cool, but I like this. Is something a cover if it's played by the original composer?
Seasons from Earth & Fire, performed by George Kooymans, who wrote it.

Impressive to be able to play convincingly in all those styles.

    Nice guitar collection, too.
