Album a Colorier playing right now.

This guy is the best. Total musical genius - a fucking master at orchestrating pop tunes. NO IDEA what he is singing about, not one word. It doesn't matter, the music is amazing and his voice is so great and utterly bizarre.

A new book on Albert ( in French) just came out

Certified genius! I've got six of his albums, and they all really shine - but I like his fourth one the best (the one with the somewhat black cover).

Celui Ou Y'a Joseph - his acknowledged (by me and U Totem) masterpiece.

Also - his lyrics are very funny and clever - I had a fluent pal translate Celui for me and I was pretty amazed at the wordplay.

    Yeah. Certified genius.

Too bad the cds editions don't come close both in terms of the art and especially the sonics

well, they never do, no matter how good of a job you do. But I take your point.

He is a true, certified genius. I probably own 6 or 7 of his records, and they are all excellent. The lyrics are very, very funny and clever. Probably the one I like the most is Ma Vie Avec Elles. I am toying with the idea of buying his book. Good way (I hope!) to practice my rusty French.

I would love for you to put your paws on those master tapes. Luckily I also have the first four LP's ripped to disc from vinyl. Scratchy? yes. Warmy? Yes. Me likey? Yes.

Anybody that rips a huge-ass fart on his album is a God to me

Frankie it would be nice to be able to compare these with the Baillemont cd from 1989
    Curious to know

Do you mean comparing the vinyl rips to the old CD issues? I assume those older discs are superior to the newer ones yes? They are definitely scratchier - I'll tell you that.

Thanks for the post. I totally agree the man is a genius and I love his work. I will be sure to listen to this over the weekend when I have the time to enjoy it! Thanks again. Also where can I find his music catalogue, which vendors carry them?? There are a few that I am missing in my collection

Its best to buy from the man himself,

Actually I am not even sure there are other possibilities...
On the other hand, you might get a signed postcard or some other personal touch which is really nice

It would have been so grand if he would have been invited to play at RIO
    but alas...

He'd certainly be my no.1 wish for an appearance there; I've never found the ability to attend, but he would definitely make me throw away the laundry. It's him of the "old guard" and prolly Kayo of the younger - that'd make my year, I think.
