    Motorpsycho: New for 2014

Man, an album a year lately.

    Here be a link:
    http://runegrammofon.com/artists/mot...he-sun-cd-2lp/

    Auto buy for me.

And, holy shit, do they have the coolest looking tees in their own shop!

I sure hope the exchange rate on the Krona is favorable (I bet it's not!).

Will have to check this one out.

Funny, I was just mentioning to a friend the other day about how lots of prog bands have tee designs that I am not particularly fond of. Looks like Motorpsycho heard my complaints

Behind the Sun is a superb album. Reine Fiske is all over it. Not just guitar but mellotron as well!

I've got 7 or 8 of their albums now. All different.

Death Defying Unicorn is great, probably my fave.

I haven't been able to get into Death Defying Unicorn really. Loved Heavy Metal Fruit though. I'll have to check this out.

One can hardly keep up with the great 'psychos. The thing about their proficiancy is that it basically allows for all of their releases to contain their share of mediocre material, as there'll always be enough GOOD stuff there to warrant autobuy. But people really need to catch them live. I caught my first MPsych gig some 23 years ago.

Too bad they don't really play the US. I saw them on their last time in the US about 10 years ago. They played three shows (two in NYC, one in Boston). I was at one of the NYC shows - less than 100 people were there. Maybe 50 people. I can see why they don't tour here. Still an amazing gig.

When I listen to the song they're streaming - Cloudwalker - all I can hear in my head is Ambrosia! Verses and harmony remind me of Nice, Nice, Very Nice.

Ugh. Man, that just makes the pain. Maybe if I buy one of their awesome tees they'll come to the deep south . . .

I'll be reviewing this as I didn't have time to review the last one, Still Life with Eggplant and I loved the idea that they brought Reine Fiske, and he's back again this time around. I'm very pleased that Elephant9's recruiting of Fiske for Atlantis was instigated by my inviting them to play at my series at the 2012 Kingsberg Jazz Festival, but that I wanted them to invite a guest or two. I'd made a couple suggestions, which they declined and asked about Reine instead. My feeling was if they wanted him he must be good...and he was...their show at the series was positively incendiary, and it's great to see Reine now getting work with other Norwegians as well......
    Best!

PS: the conversion for kroners is rarely good, but is particularly bad right now...sorry....I'll be feeling it when I go to Stavanger in May for Mai Jazz.

Not my favorite song off the last album, but a pretty cool video here for "On a Plate."

'psychos started using 'trons already on Timothy's Monster (which has shitloads of it) and have continued to do so.

I bet it isn't a coincidence that it sounds like Mountain and West Bruce & Laing also have a song of a same title.

All the latest albums have had their moments but some of the more stoner rockish stuff leaves me a bit cold. "Little Lucid Moments" from 2008 is still my favourite. Very consistent album. Despite this, Motorpsycho is still one of the greatest and uncompromising bands today.

"Last year, Motorpsycho and Ståle Storløkken played a very special concert in the Trondheim Cathedral. With Ståle on church organ and a choir singing in Norwegian, the band knew that this was a never-to-be-repeated musical experience, so they made sure to film and tape it. This musical documentary will be released as a limited edition (2,000 with the Stickman logo) on double vinyl, CD and DVD, and will include an extensive 24-page LP-sized booklet and some seriously fancy packaging.

"Planned released date is April 17th and it will of course be available for presale shortly beforehand here on the website. This is a special one, so be sure not to miss it!"

I don't need the vinyl, but I shan't miss this!

Been really digging Behind the Sun! This and the new Steven Wilson have been playing constantly in casa de Klonk lately.

I LOVE the tune 'The Promise'

    Gotta decide.

Looks like it's about $55 and about #30 to ship--not a bad price for what's included. I just don't need everything that's included (the vinyl). I asked on their FB page if this is going to get a CD or DVD only release. If I hear back, I'll post the reply here. Until then, I'm probably not pulling the trigger.

    Oh piss.

I thought there would be a cd option.

Well, I'll be out if the answer to your inquiry is no.

Wayside will carry this, so that'll save some money. But, yeah, don't know about a no LP option.
