    A. C. T - Circus Pandemonium Teaser and pre-order link

Oh noes! Hype! But here it is, and I'm legitimately looking forward to it, despite the microscopic lengths of the song snippets on the teaser:

    Track list:

    1. Intro
    2. The end
    3. Everything´s falling
    4. Manager´s wish
    5. A truly gifted man
    6. Presentation
    7. Look at the freak
    8. Argument
    9. Confrontation
    10. A mother´s love
    11. The funniest man alive
    12. A failed escape attempt
    13. Lady in white
    14. Freak of nature

And here's the preorder link. Warning, Swedish:

    http://www.ginza.se/product/a-c-t-/c...m-2014/445487/

Release date is Mar 5, 2014 worldwide, except Japan, which gets it on February 19.

Can't wait, hype hype! I played "Silence" today in anticipation.

Aw, I've missed those loony Swedes! Glad to see they are back.

And I dig the album cover! There needs to be more dark and evil in prog.

Got the Japanese version of this at the weekend and it's right up my alley. A great mix of prog and pop. Catchy tunes and some stellar playing. Hope I don't get bored of it too quickly because it's on all the time at the mo.

Listening to PapaJ's Matinee, he played the first four songs from the new album. Very wild and strange prog from these Swedes. I'm hearing Queen as well as E L P among many other influences. Hopefully this will come up on Progstreaming.

got mine... pricey, eh! First impression is pretty optimistic. First half of it being instant kickass. Need a few more listens to figure out what's going in the second half. But overall I'm pleased it's a return to Epic's times. Always thought Lejon to be one of the best drummers out there. Tho his input on Andromeda isn't that inventive, I should say.

Anyone know what the name of this band is supposed to mean?

Do you pronounce it like the word "act", or spell it out like an acronym? If it's an acronym, what does it stand for?

2014 is shaping up to be a good year!

Transatlantic, Glass Hammer, Druckfarben, and now A.C.T

Half way through my first listen...masterpiece

This is very good! It's like these guys haven't missed a beat, in spite of there being an eight year gap since their last studio outing.

Great musicians. I'm very pleasantly surprised by this one.

They've really ramped up the energy on this one. At some points it's a bit much (and I'm not fond of the two dramatic minute-long soundbytes in between the songs) but these tunes were playing in my head for hours afterwards. It's a really good album, and if you liked "Last Epic," you'll definitely like this.

I don't care much for the story bits either (I think there are 2 tracks that are just dialog with some atmospheric music in the background). It's just not really my cup of tea.

The music, however, is pretty much all superb -- even the over-the-top stuff. One of the things that endeared A.C.T to me was their penchant for mixing pomp and excess with catchy pop melodies.

I think the story bits are fine, they are very short and flows with the rest of the album.

If you want to hear a decent album that is utterly destroyed by dialogue bits, check out Pete Townshend's original version of "Psychoderelict". It is unlistenable. He later came to his senses and released a music-only version that is vastly better.

As for "Circus Pandemonium", some prog albums take me a few listens to absorb, but this one is fantastic out of the gate. Highly recommended!
