Just got this (a promo). Sounds fresh and pleasant. They managed to get a keyboard-part played by the late Ingo Bischof into Moonshine Of Sunflowers.

    Yes, Hellmut told me:
"Ingo played these few chords for me years ago, but i never used them. when i rediscovered them on my library i sent the files to peter and jan - and now he‘s with us together again on this tune. a bit spooky but great!"

Looks nice, but I prefer buying the 2 missing albums as CD.

If you dont have it allready:
You can (hear and) get Kraan X on bandcamp - the only other way is as LP second hand.
I think you might like it, allthough it doesn't have the Kraan watermark sound.

I had never heard of Kraan before seeing them at Nearfest in 03 and they really blew my skirt up. Unfortunately, I never bought anything until running into their Bandcamp site recently, where I picked up the Live 2001 set. Really tight and well recorded. Gonna have to get em all now.

which are "the 2 missing albums" may I ask?
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Soul of Stone is good !

Yeah I don't think X ever was put on cd, and Peter had left the band at that point so it probably sounds different.

Just listening to Live on Ewetoob. Damn, these guys are tight. Great bass tone too.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

Hellmut Hattler got his 'lost' bass back, and now it needs some check up

    https://www.bassic.de/threads/the-ri...#post-17207044

    Hellmut tells the story:

"When I started to endorse Ibanez basses, and FX the Boss of the Co. wasn’t sure if I’d play the Rickenbacker instead of Ibanez basses although I did sign a contract, so I put my instrument in pawn just to make sure I won’t feint him.
The end of that coop (after 12 Years or so) was not too funny, so I didn’t have the nerves to ask for the Rick, as I already had an offer from Warwick to endorse their basses. After Warwick, there was Status and I was more than happy with my custom built instrument.
Just now, after KRAAN went on pretty well, I thought about using some original 70s gear, and asked the Ibanez Distribution Co. for my old Rickenbacker, but I didn’t get any reply. Now the son of the Boss follows up in the company’s hierarchy and he said he was willing to send out someone to check for the bass - and: tataaaahhhh - it arrived today surprisingly and without any warning.

The neck was somehow lightly „twisted" even before i gave it away. If I ever could find someone who’s able to fix it I could even consider playing it live and in the studio again, as no endorsement deals limit me in the moment considering the choice of any brand."

That's a GREAT story. It's almost painful to see the wear and tear on that Ric, but that's what happens to an instrument like that after the kind of gigging and recording career HH has had.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
