It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, World. Classic. RiP
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
I agree, a very funny man. RIP
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
Actually it's spelled CAESAR, like the salad. But whatever. Great comedian, musician. If you're a baby boomer then you have to know him.
"Every language has its own music." - Sid Caesar
RIP to a colossal pioneer!
"My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician, and to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference"
President Harry S. Truman
Rest In Peace Sid Caesar.
"please do not understand me too quickly"-andre gide

Wow, I read the thread title too quick and "Sid Ceaser" hit my brain as "Sound Chaser"

We're trying to build a monument to show that we were here
It won't be visible through the air
And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973
Wow - I would have guessed he was already gone too. Love him in Mel Brooks' Silent Movie.
RIP.
Sad news, but he lived to a ripe old age, that's for sure.
I had picked up the new 5 disc edition of Its A Mad Mad Mad Mad World a few weeks back and watched it again (brilliant new 4K restoration and also a restored roadshow print with lots of new footage etc).
I once saw him live. Worked for Cannon Films in the 80's, and in '86 they held a conference in Israel for their cinema managers, and Sid Caesar was a guest, and performed live at a gala dinner. He did one of his 'language; routines, performing in various different languages. I remember thinking I would have loved to have heard some of his more classic routines and gags, but it was an honour just to have seen him at all I guess.
