Chalk this one up as "I didn't know he was still out there making music/living." I may have to go as well.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

Great news. I'm a fan of both and would love to see them. No dates anywhere near here, though. Thanks for the news and for posting the video.

Saw The Black Angels in 2010 when they co-headlined with Black Mountain. Great show!

I haven't picked up their latest...

that electric jug is why I don't listen to 13FE music. too annoying. When that's not being played, it's great.

Saw the show last night at St Louis stop, without getting into a detailed review here are some thoughts-

Wow, the fact that Mr Erickson is even able to do this seems unbelievable given the circumstances, almost more questions than answers. But who cares, it was fucking awesome, way better than it needed to be. Roky with his own excellent band gave a very tight 45 minute set that was action packed if you like 60's style garage rock. An interesting observation- it seems like the older generation of performers rely on modern technology (teleprompters) for lyrics, set list, ect (hell, even Geddy Lee has this stuff on stage), not so with Roky, the man looks right into the audience and it all comes from his head. I would call it a victorious performance to say the least. The only disappointment was the absence of the electric jug.

Next up were The Black Angels - If you like modern psychedelic then these guys are your ticket. The best way to describe them to the unfamiliar is a mixture of Barrett era Pink Floyd with Velvet Underground, add to this some groovy projected imagery and get ready to blast off.

I was tremendously bummed that I missed the Goblin tour but this more than made up for it.

I've checked out The Black Angels 2 or 3 times before and they just didn't click with me. Decided a couple of weeks ago to check them out again; this time I love them. I'd love to see them in Newport, KY but I have 2 tix to a Go'vt Mule show for that night. Next time.
