Visibility of Discussion Titles within Private Groups

I created an Invite only group, and yet when folks post to a discussion in that group, I can see that announced in the New Post page with title of Discussion. Am I missing something? Desire is to keep that info private.

Below is from a vBulletin discussion on the topic (from 2008/2009), but it may be helpful. If you are searching for the goup, it may be giving you a false sense of visibility if you are permitted to see it.

Make sure in all usergroup permissions under Social Group Permissions, that these are set to NO:

    Can Always Post Messages
If enabled, the user will also be able to view private and invite only groups.

Can Always Post Message in Social Groups
If this is set to 'yes' the user will always be able to post messages in social groups, even when:

The social group is configured with 'Users must join to view the content'.
The user is not a member of the group.

Note: If the user has this permission, they will always be able to see the contents of groups configured with 'Invite Only' and 'Users must join to view the content'.

    Can Always Create Discussions
If enabled, the user will also be able to view private and invite only groups.

Can Always Create Discussions in Social Groups
If this is set to 'yes' the user will be able to create new discussions in groups, even if:

The user is not a member of the group.
The group is configured with 'Must Join Group to View Content' option.
The group is configured with 'Only Owner Can Create New Discussions' option.

Note: If the user has this permission, they will always be able to see the contents of groups configured with 'Invite Only' and 'Users must join to view the content'.

Where are the social group permissions? Or is that an admin thing?

the group owner (i.e. the person who started the group) has those.
