MoeTar Cash Pony and Atomic Ape Oakland, Ca.

It looks like a good night music. Come out and have fun.

Atomic Ape's "Swarm" Album Release Tour hits Oakland!

Returning to the Bay Area for the first time in over 4 years!!!

This show at the Legionnaire Saloon is the second stop on a full west coast tour in support of our new Mimicry Records release, Swarm, an album that was years in the making. Our debut record, Swarm features performances by over 25 musicians and incredible art by a legendary S.F artist.

We also couldn't be more excited to be sharing the stage with two of Oakland's finest bands. Opening the show we have the amazing psyche/prog rock band Cash Pony and rounding out the evening is the experimental art pop band, MoeTar.

So mark your calendars now because this will surely be a night of adventurous music that is not to be missed!

Sounds like these three bands would play in your backyard for beer and gas money. You name the date.

Feb 1st. I guess they didn't put the date in the copy. Sorry for not proof reading. Just helping out some friends.

Hey - thanks, Kurt, for the thread! Yup, February 1st (which was in the Facebook event data, but not in the copy)...

FYI Jason from Atomic Ape played in Secret Chiefs 3 for a while, appears on some recordings, and still sits in from time to time when we do our Zorn stuff on the west coast... Part of the whole family...

I've seen some damn fine bands play in peoples' "backyards". In fact some better shows than well known bands.

I'll try to make this one, Kurt. I might have to miss Atomic Ape since I'll need to catch BART before they shut down for the night. But I've been wanting to see MoeTar for ages.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Good line-up, can't beat the price and anyone from Estradasphere is a must see in my book of must sees. I'll put it on the calendar and cross my fingers!

MoeTar is imo one of the very best bands out there right now.

Highly recommended, particularly for fans of District 97 and Half Past Four.

    Wish I could.......

All 13 songs are tracked and mostly mixed. Aiming for March, we shall see...!

Also note the band order may change for this bill. Stay tuned.

Will you tour behind it? It'd be very nice to see you in the Northwest, where you have not been so far.

Bumping this because there is indeed a swap in the band order that evening. It is now going to be:

    Set times:

    Cash Pony - 9:30pm
    Atomic Ape - 10:30pm
    MoeTar - 11:30pm

It makes more sense for the touring band to have the middle slot - in fact I'm surprised that wasn't the case originally - anyway they set up the gig, so we were happy to make the switch for them. People sticking around will be rewarded with one or two new songs (that have been recorded but not played live yet).

Once again: Saturday, February 1st, Legionnaire Saloon in Oakland (2272 Telegraph Avenue).

    - Matt
