"I'm Not Gonna Miss You" (Jed) may be the most poignant song I've ever heard. The situation with my former wife pretty much assured I'd tear up, and I did.

Ok, it had been a while since I heard it. Yeah, pretty amazing that he came up with that song. That he could combine what's basically a great country song with a really insightful song about Alzheimers.

I know this is about Glen's songs, but I always loved this video that centers more on his impressive guitar playing:

Watched I'll be Me a few nights ago. Riveting stuff but ye gads what a terrible disease. "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" is an absolutely heartbreaking song.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Watched most of this last night. Really good. Amazing how it came together so well for him while on stage. I missed that last 15 minutes, though, but expect it to be on again. It was on Headline News, instead of CNN.

I have been trying to catch this on CNN, but so far have not been able to. It is not on Netflix or On Demand either. Agree that song is amazing. My Grandfather had Alzheimers and it was basically a 10 year slide into becoming an infant again. Very sad disease.

Way cool hearing Glen do the Guided By Voices song "Hold On Hope." Ric Ocasek produced the GbV record with that song on it (Do The Collapse) and buried it in schmaltz. This was better.

It's a great cover, very poigniant given his condition. I do like the GBV version just because it's such an unusual sound for them. It's a shame that it's the only GBV song most people know though, because of scrubs. The lyrics are fantastic.
