That's not what I get out of that article. It's stating that he's part of the Crimson Projeckt, which is different than King Crimson.

Yeah, this isn't the latest version of Crimson, it's the combined Belew Power Trio and Stick Men bands that toured as Crimson Projekct a couple of years ago, excellent band by the way, great gig

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Nothing to explain. They are part of the new lineup, along with Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Mel Collins, Jakko Jakszyk, and of course Fripp. There's no reason -- logistical or contractual -- that they can't do both. Other than some burnout in terms of playing the same music again and again.

Though if history is any guide the new KC lineup will probably be focusing on new material while the ProjeKCt will be looking backwards. For fans it's a win win.
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

There are two bands - King Crimson, and The Crimson Projekct, they just happen to have two common members.

The 8th incarnation of King Crimson will be Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, Jakko Jakszyk and Robert Fripp.

Artists are often in more than one band simultaneously.

That's a confusingly written article...not sure why they wouldn't make it overly apparent that Belew is in the Crimson ProjeKct...NOT KC 8.

And again my 2 cents on the CP is that it just doesn't feel right.

Well that's what I was expecting too, but early word about the new KC seemed to indicate they wouldn't play any new material, which I found both surprising and disappointing. At the very least one would expect them to premiere some of the "Scarcity Of Miracles" material since all 5 musicians who performed on that CD will be in the line-up. On the other hand, with both Jakszyk and Collins' background as members of the 21st Schizoid Band, some early 1970s material may also find its way in the setlist.

The Crimson ProjeKct, as far as I know, is basically a revival of the "THRAK" band with similar setlists - so only looking "backwards" in a restricted manner.

    Recent Crimson Projekct setlist -

    B'Boom
    THRAK
    Dinosaur
    Elephant Talk
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part Two
    Neurotica
    Industry
    Three of a Perfect Pair
    Frame by Frame
    Sleepless
    VROOOM VROOOM
    Indiscipline

So yes a lot of Thrak era with Discipline era and the odd 'classic', they've been known to play Red.

The biggest disappointment with the new KC for me will be if they don't record any new material though I'd thoroughly enjoy them touring some early era material.

The four bootlegs the Crimson Projekct have put out are available here: http://iapetus-store.com/album/offic...tleg-live-2012

All are pretty good, I hope to be able to see them next year.
