    Disco- Rock

This is more of a search for individual songs rather than albums, as I don't think too many made a whole album in this style. I can already think of lots of examples but I'm wondering if there is more. As far as pure 'disco' music goes, I only enjoy a handful of songs; however, most examples of rockers attempting disco are more enjoyable to me than most mainstream disco.

Right off the bat, I am not looking for the more 'poppy' stuff like "I Was Made For Loving You", "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" or "Emotional Rescue". I like those songs but I'm looking for Disco-Rawk with an emphasis on the rawk. Also, I want disco-rock, not funk-rock or soul-rock or R&B-rock. Here's a few examples of what I'm talking about...

I'm sure songs I'm already familiar with will be mentioned, but I'll comment on any I am not.

I recall when "The Wall" came out, people heard that backbeat on "Another Brick in the Wall" and thought they were attempting disco.

The Rolling Stones' 'Miss You', surely? Has that four-to-the-floor rhythm but also a strong blues element to it.

ELO had some disco tunes around the Xanadu era.

Because they were It was about 15 bpm too slow for real disco but other than that all it lacks are the cheesy string glisses.

OTOH, I wouldn't categorize Beds Are Burning as disco or clubby at all.

Maybe you can dance to it, but it's not disco. It came out a full decade after disco.

From what I gather, they were. Another Brick In The Wall Part Two (and probably Run Like Hell, also) were deliberate attempts to "come up with some singles". EMI presumably wanted something "radio friendly" to begin with, but especially given the band's financial issues at the time (most of their money was lost in high risk investment schemes in the late 70's), it was determined they needed this record to do well. This is also apparently the reason (or one of the reasons) why The Wall wasn't a Waters solo album (apparently an idea he had toyed with for a brief while).

The only song mentioned/posted I have not heard was the Jeff Wayne one. Never heard the album, just the one single with Justin Hayward. That was pretty interesting. Chrome Hoof kick ass! Love them. I agree The Midnight Oil track doesn't fit. They started in the '70s but I haven't heard their early stuff; I'm assuming it's mainly post-punk oriented. I also agree that "Hot Stuff" would be a good example of what I'm talking about. I considered putting the ELO and Sweet songs in the OP. Here's a couple more...

This one is more recent and even proggy and ties in to today's album of the day:

There's discussion of Sparks on the main page and they had their share of disco-flavored hits.

Plus, many prog bands turned to dance beats when the 80s rolled around:

That whole Discovery album, which features "Shine a Little Love." Many fans refer to it as Disco? Very!

Holy smokes! That's what I call a modern progressive band. They're very zeuhl-ish actually. Check this out (and not just her booty! ):
