Ask him if a criminal mind is all he's ever had...

Gowan was actually having himself a decent solo career up here back in the late 80s. The song I was paraphrasing was a huge hit, and that album did well. He followed it up with 2 pretty solid albums, doing songs with the likes of Jon Anderson and Alex Lifeson, before he fell off my radar. Next time I saw him, he's telling me to get myself a brand new motorcar, in a faux British accent!

Yeah, Gowan was very big here back then. "Criminal Mind" was massive, with a popular video. "Strange Animal", "All The Lovers In The World" and "Moonlight Desires" (w/ Jon Anderson) were all hits too. I've actually never heard him with Styx since I'm not really into them, but I'm not surprised he joined up, he's got a good set of pipes, or at least he did.

Can he kick his band mates in the ass to convince them to record another album?

Here here. Even with the excellent blu-ray release of The Grand Illusion / Pieces of Eight which was an excellent release their stuff is getting kind of old. My wife won't even go to their concerts anymore as she says (Truthfully) that it is just the same old stuff.

I would have asked did he get the idea for the spinning keys rig from Mike Cotten of The Tubes! Oh well.
