I downgraded to the Esoteric version for the 2nd disc

Anyway ... I think someone else asked about the Esoteric so I gave my opinion. I rarely go off on this stuff like I used to because I'm just bored of the topic. Suffice it to say that I think the Esoteric "remastering" was abysmal, but certainly understand that others will disagree. It's just that in this specific case I really haven't a clue how anyone could.

My observation came from a review that I read, but I do agree with that assessment since I have heard him sing.

When did PFM play with Ian?

At Prog Exhibition in Rome in 2010. It's available on CD/DVD (check Amazon or the mail order dealers). Interestingly, some of the earliest released live PFM songs are Jethro Tull covers from the Aqualung era (check out, for example, "10 Anni Live 1971-1981").
