    Freedom To Glide

It has been delayed a few times. But today Freedom To Glide have released their full-length album 'Rain'.

If mighty Pink Floyd would have done a new concept opus, it might have been something like this. Highly recommended!

I snatched this album up on iTunes. I am enjoying it quite a bit.
My wife really liked the opening track. We have a long drive tomorrow, so she will hear the rest. Two thumbs up!

Had a chance to listen to this album a few weeks before Christmas and it left me pretty much underwhelmed. It got the idea that F2G focussed so much on getting the story / concept across that they forgot one crucial element: writing memorable music. The opening track pretty much is the highlight of the album partly due to the fact the song gets this really uplifting moment when the guitar solo enters. After that the album seems to be plodding along.

Applauds from many music lovers vs criticism from an ordinary radio DJ.

Btw, during the second consecutive month "Rain" is among of best-selling albums on Just For Kicks, a leading German webstore.

I am a music lover. My radio thing is that I am long standing member of a team that produces a weekly progrock radioshow on local Dutch radio and available for online streaming as well. I do NOT DJ but my role could be described as producer / engineer. Don't get paid for it, we actually hardly ask for or receive promo-copies. Some of our team quite liked this album, it left me quite cold despite me having a long standing interest in the subject matter.

Maybe I was a bit harsh. Try to don't be offended, Chris...

Hey - thanks for that list of recent releases by someone I don't know and some magazine I never heard of! Seriously - I did not know Al Di Meola released something new - will have to investigate.

I really like this album too. I like both the concept and the music itself and have featured this album on my silly show.

i don't idolize anyone, not even Baldrian. But you are free to worship Baldrian or someone else for that matter. Haken is #1 in my book, regardles what baldrians might suggest.

A little quotation from 'Get Ready To Rock's article.

‘Rain’ is a stunning piece of work that manages to be both respectful and sensitive to the subject matter without any of the cloying sentimentality that often permeates this type of work and, perhaps just as importantly, without sounding like mere Floyd clones'.

Received the EP today. I guess this last part of a trilogy it's the most introvert one. But again the band impresses me and altough there are (again) hints towards Waters and PF they do have a style of their own. I'm curious what will be the next step.
