Hi to all. New here, my main goal perhaps would be to find music I did not know existed. So far, it's working out well.
I recently procured the Larks' Tongues in Aspic 40 Anniversary Edition. Now, When I first heard of this I though "gee whiz how many times can this (admitted seminal IMHO) record be released?" But then there is so much stuff here I had to try it out. I will admit right now that I have not yet listened to all of it.
Of the material I have heard here, and there is a lot, the most intriguing to me is a long track (about 80 minutes) of stuff from the cutting room floor called "Keep That One, Nick".
Now, I've heard many "outtakes" and "alternate versions" before and some were interesting some really not but I have to say after listening to this a few times: THEY LEFT SOME OF THE BEST PERFORMANCES ON THE EDIT ROOM FLOOR!
Seriously, I really think the final version of this recording was over-thought and over-polished. Something I would have never believed until hearing this.
YMMV
