How do you know if there is one? It just comes down with the files?

Once upon a time in the 80's, I began replacing my LP's with CD's...eventually selling off most of my vinyl. Seemed like a good idea at the time. But there's no way I'm making that mistake again by replacing my CD's with something as easily destroyed as a computer file. I certainly get why people are doing it. Convenience can be a wonderful thing, and I do rip all of my CD's to the ipod to use at work. But at home, I never listen to music on the COM or the POD. I mean hell, I never could have gotten an autographed copy of the last Echolyn CD if it was just an MP3 file. Give me the physical product please, because if it's only available as a download, I'll pass thanks.
