The Nektar Project Tour page has been updated to include info on the 2014 dates now....
    http://www.thenektarproject.com/geew...014-tour-dates
Supplemental info, such as the day and time of each gig are as important as pricing, location and support acts, so they can only be found via the direct links to each announced venue I can locate.
There is still no word on who will be playing with Roye, so it could be Peter Pichl, Randy Dembo, or someone new on bass as I already know it won't be Lux Vibratus or Billy Sherwood....
    stay tuned.

...Lux Vibratus seems like such a cool stage name....seriously, I hope that Nektar can make it out to west coast of USA again. Time Machine has stood up to repeated spins and sounds damn good. Would love to hear it live.

And... He's as outstanding bass player, a perfect fit for this particular formation of Nektar.

I too thought Lux was a great asset, unfortunately he can't do Europe.

BTW,... A tour update for those of you in Germany....
January 10th is now the Harmonie club in Bonn (not the yard club in Koeln) and the Dortmund Piano (9th) lists a 10am gig on its' facebook page.... the morning right after the Borderline (8th) in London (huh?).... yet a ticket site lists an 8pm show.... Stay tuned..
    See http://www.thenektarproject.com/geew...014-tour-dates
for all the latest verified links to the announced dates.

I would too, but I'm highly skeptical since they cancelled the West Coast dates this past summer.

With the tour still 6 weeks away, would anyone like to suggest a set-list?

Excellent point, plus I wish it could get some mainstream airplay, as it is a "new" album. If all the stops aren't pulled out soon, once again, another Nektar momentum may be lost.

Sorry to quote you slightly out of context Ron, but you ARE right.
BTW, Roye has just announced (on wastebook) that a new album will be "ready" in June 2014... but he doesn't know which label it will be released on, which makes it quite an ambitious (and very curious) statement.
    Again, stay tuned.

I have a tendancy to look at the glass as half-empty, but I interpreted the "new album-different label" news as Cleopatra decided to cut their losses.

I still wish them the best. I liked "Time Machine."

Whatever Nektar's future has in store for their fans, I would say that anything that we get from Nektar is a bonus. They gave me more joy with their early music than bands such as Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, etc. My love for Nektar was rekindled with Evolution, and I was able to see them in their last 2 tours to the states. Roye and Ron have dedicated their lives to offer their fans the goodness of their great music. If we get more of this, I am very grateful. Time Machine is a very good album.

Agreed. I'm of a similar belief.

I've never had the good fortune to see them live, in any incarnation. I did have tickets once, but that's a story better left untold.

You could have written the exact same thing on my behalf. I totally agree.

I have mentioned a couple of times that during the last tour, Roye mentioned a couple of times on stage, see you next year. That was at the Milw. show. Casey, I know about the debacle that prevented you from seeing Nektar, but I hope you get a chance one day. I have a feeling they will be back in the states.

Yep, he said that in Pittsburgh, which I found a bit odd, considering there were only about 40 people there. I suppose he was just being nice to us die-hards.

Continuing on a positive note, although the European schedule was changed slightly, ALL eight tour updates have now been corrected and verified with links at http://www.thenektarproject.com/geew...D=164&PID=1079
There is still no mention of who will actually appear on stage with Roye for this tour, as only older PR releases have been used (with various former line-ups and pictures). So again, stay tuned.

In an interview today, Roye revealed that the bass player for this tour will be TOM FRY.
    http://www.thenektarproject.com/geew...D=164&PID=1079
Tom was the bass player for Audioporn (with Che Albrighton)...
he's the one in the bowler hat in this video....

Funny trailer. Confused that Peter Pichl is in the promo video and also listed as a bass player. What is Roye saying at 5:56? Paul is dead? This could be important!?! Looks like they are having some fun on road. Thanks for all the updates, Mick. Hoping for some stateside action as well.

Sounds like "what a great piece (inaudible ["we have"?])" in a deep accent.

Nice, thanks, Ron. It takes a dedicated Beatles/Nektar fan to figure this stuff out.

I take that as a compliment.

Even I'm not sure what Roye says at 5:56 either guys, although I'm quite familiar with his Brum accent, ... Anyway, that's an "on the road video" from their UK tour in 2010, when the line-up was Roye, Ron, Klaus & Peter. Audioporn was Che Albrighton, Tom Fry, Ade & Lucy.
Good lookin' vigorous musicians also attract a younger audience eventually, so this latest merger with a youthful (and competent) bass player is probably a great idea. After all... the phrase was Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n Roll.... and obviously both bands had the munchies at 3am!
