And then there is a Queen cover
And then there is a Queen cover
Well, in that case:
OK, full disclosure: I didn't know about this song. i just decided to Google Klaus Nomi and cover song and see what came up...
Kay & I saw Max Raabe & his orchestra earlier this year in Madison, Renate, and he did both those songs.
He was, of course, brilliant!
"My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician, and to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference"
President Harry S. Truman
“Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Coldplay CD.
The Carpenters did a pretty cool version of Klaatu's calling occupants of interplanetary craft !!!!
Calling occupants was pretty true to Klaatu's version (if a bit on the mellow side), but their slow version of Ticket To Ride was pretty unusual.
The kings of slowed down unusual covers are Vanilla Fudge.... kind of surprised they hacven't been mentioned yet
Well, to be honest, I've heard two best of compilation (to make a CD-r for a lady friend) with fairly different track list selections, and I can't find anything worthy on them... I even find their version Calling Occupabnts relatively poor...
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Very true! BTW I do think the Carpenters version of Calling Occupants is too heavy on the cheese to enjoy, but some of their other cheesy music like Close To You I really like. It's just Karen's voice and that amazing lush production. But the good stuff is on the first couple albums.
I usually love everything Max Raabe and the Palast Orkester do but that Queen cover is horrible.
Martin Denny's 'Quiet Village' covered by.... Martin Denny! After he discovered the moog. Not exactly Tangerine Dream territory, but...
No, I don't think it's funny or inventive or ironic. It just sounds bloody awful.
Eleanor Rigby covered by Zoot has been mentioned. Try this version of it by Esperanto on for size. Quite unusual.
Lou
Looking forward to my day in court.
