Wayback machine: What band would you see?

If you could go back in time, what band or musician would you see in concert?
Being 15 in 1970, I saw some great ones, but missed Janis, Jimi and Jim Morrison.
On the jazz side, I was lucky to see Ella and Joe Pass(different shows).
Anyway, I'm going to go with Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green and Danny Kirwan,
at least for today. How about you?

I'd climb in Mr. Peabody's invention to see John Mayall in 1969 at Fillmore East, the concert released as "The Turning Point".

Jazz?...so many choices....ok...again, back to NYC in 1969 to see Ornette Coleman at New York University, the concert released as "Crisis".

No Doubt, it would be the Stones in their prime. Beatles would be a long second - If I could stand the screaming fans... Probably not, since they drowned the band out.

I was 15 when the original Woodstock happened. I was aware it was coming but about two years too young to travel across the country alone to attend.

The Charles Mingus tour of 1964 with Eric Dolphy in the band. For sure.

Second place: The Lennie Tristano sextet in 1949.

Third place: Dizzy Gillespie with Charlie Parker at the 3 Deuces in 1945.

Fourth place: either the Mothers of Invention in 1968/69 or Soft Machine in 1969 as a septet.

Fifth: Mahavishnu Orchestra in Japan in 1973.

phew. That's some heavy, old dreaming.

I would have loved to have seen Yes on the '79 In the Round tour, or Genesis during the TotT or W&W tours.

There are plenty of others, but those are the first two off the top of my head.

Fifteen years ago, that would have been amongst my choices too, but The Musical Box have taken away any real desire to see the real Genesis do that music. The only thing I'd get out of it is the pyro.

I'd go for the Relayer tour and the "solo albums" tour. The former so I can hear To Be Over played live, and the latter for the Crab Nebula stage.

I'd give anything to see Nektar with Mick Brockett's liquid light show.

I've been on the Wayback machine a few times in recent years. Cream, James Gang, Utopia, Vanilla Fudge and, oh yeah, Nektar with Mick Brockett's liquid light show.
