I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
I remain wary that the pandemic will continue to be problematic for social events for some time. There are a handful of upcoming shows that I would normally have committed to, but have not. But still have live music coming up.
Stick Men / District 97 - April 19 - Reggies, Chicago
Steve Hackett - May 5 - Copernicus Center, Chicago
Gilmour Project - May 14 - Des Plaines Theater - Des Plaines
Roger Waters - July 28 - Fiserv Forum - Milwaukee
Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets - Oct. 3 - Chicago Theater
Pending rescheduling:
Iron Butterfly - Arcada Theater, St. Charles
Robbie Krieger / Vanilla Fudge - Arcada Theater, St. Charles
Prog Day - if it happens
Big Ears 2023 - March 30 - April 2 - tentative commitment
Just got home from ROSfest, but my current calandar looks like this:
May 2 - 7: Cruise To The Edge
June 10: Midnight Oil - Chicago
June 22: Thank You Scientist - Pyramid Scheme Grand Rapids MI
July 2: Jake Kershaw / Megan Rae - Balloon Festival Battle Creek MI
July 24: Drive By Truckers - Bells Brewery Kalamazoo MI
August 24: Umphrey's McGee - Meijer Gardens Grand Rapids MI

September 20: Porcupine Tree - Chicago
Oct 11: Souther Culture On The Skids - Bell's Brewery Kalamazoo MI
Oct 14: Joe Satriani - State Theater Kalamazoo MI
I had to use up outstanding balance for Chicago Symphony by end of June from 2020 concert cancellations. Was not allowed to apply to the 22/23 season so made some choices for little remaining of this season (which I was not that enthused about).
Jenny Hval / Discovery Zone - May 16 - Constellation, Chicago
Gilmour Project - May 19 - Des Plaines Theater - Des Plaines
CSO MusicNOW (4 contemporary performances: Montgomery, Tower, Weinberg, Moore) - May 23 - Harris Theater, Chicago
CSO: Salonen (Ravel, Stravinsky, Dessner) - May 26 - Symphony Center, Chicago
CSO: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - June 30 - Symphony Center, Chicago
Robby Krieger - July 21 - St. Charles, ILL (now without opening act as Vanilla Fudge originally scheduled now cancelled) - Note: have not confirmed Krieger's band, but a number of former Zappa sidemen on most recent album and anticipate 1 or more to be present
Roger Waters - July 28 - Fiserv Forum - Milwaukee
Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets - Oct. 3 - Chicago Theater
B-52s - Oct 7 - Chicago Theater
Pending rescheduling:
Iron Butterfly - Arcada Theater, St. Charles (learned that the ownership of Iron Butterfly name and trademark is in contention and apparently preventing use until resolved)
Prog Day - if it happens
Big Ears 2023 - March 30 - April 2 - tentative commitment

If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

Also, Ephemeral Sun: it's a thing and we like making things that might be your thing: https://ephemeralsun.bandcamp.com
Heck yes! I almost considered skipping Psycho Vegas and instead just going to Paris to see Carpenter Brut with Ulver and Sophie (darkwave female goodness) at a joint called Zenith. But there are almost two dozen total acts in Vegas that I'm pretty jazzed to see. So...the desert it is!

An excellent show, sadly underattended. 50-75, trending to the lower end. I foolishly thought the Prog & Metal communities would combine to sell this out, but I was sadly and ridiculously mistaken. A sellout would probably have been in the 250 range, but I admit to being terrible at estimating that sort of thing.
I would have bet a relatively large sum of money that I would never see these guys on mainland USA, apart from a festival, so I'm thankful for that. However, if InsideOut is floating this, they're losing their shirt, and we won't see Pain Of Salvation on tour in the USA again.
Sucks.
That is too bad. They were amazing on CTTE. I suspect that CTTE was what allowed them to do the tour as the travel expenses to and from the U.S. are most likely covered by them. Bands like P.O.S often use festivals as anchors for tours.
Did you catch the opening act Klone? They put on two amazing shows on CTTE as well.
At this moment one thing is planned, more or less, depending on the weather
May 26th: My Brainbox (featuring Jan Akkerman) Breda.
It's an open air jazz festval with all kinds of artists playing throughout the city. I've been there once with my dad and I think I also went there once with both my parents. It brings back memories, because we often went to Breda to take a walk in the forest. It's quite some time ago when we went there for the last time, because my dad wasn't really capable to walk longer distances.
Grabbed a ticket for Voivod in Boston. Show is 6/19. Been about 29 years since I last saw them.
