Same here. Apparently 75 tickets were sold but there didn't even seem to be that many people there. I was talking to one guy who was trying to sell me an extra ticket he had but I talked to him in between sets(before JW came on)and he told me he wasn't able to sell it so that makes it at least 74 in attendance if not less. I mentioned to one guy that at least there seemed to be more people here than there was for Knight Area and he said to me "who the hell are they?" There seemed to be quite a few "half way in the door" prog fans there.
While I know the Neo Dutch band KA (saw them in Montreal & walked out halfway), trust me, there are huge numbers of Crim fans who've gone all the way through the door who have no idea who KA is.
If you had said he didn't know Porky Tree, that might be a surprise.
BTW, I love Marillion (both bands) & Credo, as well as a few other Neo bands, so I don't consider myself an elitist snob.

Oh I know Geeze(can I call you Geeze? ). Sometimes it's hard to figure out where that line is. In other words just how much into prog or in the know are the people who show up to these things. It's not a big deal but it's just interesting and I'm curious. I wonder if I mentioned Magic Pie, Glass Hammer or Spock's Beard would I have gotten the same "who the hell are they" reaction. LOL. I asked the guy sitting in front of me what modern prog bands he knows and he had to think about it but finally said "Porcupine Tree." I said well you probably know about Spock's Beard and he said "of course" so there is hope.
Anyway, I'm definitely a real D97 fan now. I've been on their mailing list since the last time I saw them at the NJ proghouse and now it has finally clicked for me. I might even drive out to Chicago just to see them in their home town. Ok maybe not anytime soon but that would be cool. Anyway, I look forward to their new album also. They played one or two things from what they are saying is their new material so that's something to look out for.
No, I never thought you were a prog snob and I know you like some neo(otherwise you wouldn't go to RF)as do I. As for D97, progarchives lists them as crossover but I'm not really sure what they are crossing over from. There are some pop elements or influences but you could say that about a lot of bands. I would classify them as modern prog but I admit that's even a bit of a nebulous term.

John incorrectly labelled the first set of KC tunes as a medley. It wasn't really a medley because they played the whole songs. They did go from song to song with no break in between for a while though so I can see why they might label it that. Your list above sounds about right. Good memory.
We're happy to say Leslie's made a full recovery and will be ready to rock Boston tonight!
Looking forward to the NYC gig this Tuesday!
Chicago showtime is 7pm Thursday...any idea when Little Atlas may hit the stage? Hoping to catch both bands, but not sure with traffic and all...
They rocked at the NJ Proghouse Homecoming Weekend!
Did they really!? In what manner? Details please!
In the manner that young dudes fronted by an attractive young lady and an old dude are wont to do, that's how.

Both sets at NYC last night were great fun. We got a bonus in the second set, with Ian McDonald guesting on "The Court of the Crimson King," which was wonderful. Wetton was in fine voice on both Monday and Tuesday nights, and really seemed to be enjoying himself singing these old Crimson vocal tunes. Some glances at the iPad teleprompter for lyrics, but much less than I would have had to do!
Between the two sets, I think we got pretty much all of the vocal songs from Larks'/Starless/Red, save "The Mincer." I thought about shouting for Doctor Diamond, but didn't want to be a douche-bag.
I enjoyed District 97 also, I think they have a lot of potential.

NYC was a sellout on Tuesday; Chicago, can we do the same tonight for the final show??

Great show at Reggie’s last night! Despite not being familiar with the music of Little Atlas, I enjoyed their opening set! I was happy to hear my favorite D97 track in the first set and the 3 “new” songs all sounded very promising! The KC set with John Wetton was amazing! It was nice to see a standing ovation after The Night Watch, as it’s always been a favorite of mine.
Were any of the shows on this tour recorded for possible future release?
D97, as always, showed chops waaaay beyond their years, Leslie's stage clothes gave this old man heart palpitations and her voice just keeps getting better & better.
I went to the 1st show of the tour in Milwaukee as well, and it was very evident that over the course of playing 10 or 11 straight gigs, everything was tighter than gig #1.
Wetton's voice has been truly resurrected from the dead! He deserved a standing ovation for The Night Watch, and imo also for Starless.
I'm very familiar with the music of Little Atlas, and was happy to see that several peeps who weren't bought their cds after their set. At times, Steve Katsikas's lyrics are a very useful psychology lesson (not surprising considering that's his other gig).
A great time was had by all!

A huge thanks to all the PE folks who came out to these shows, and shared their thoughts about them. Thanks so much for the support, and for helping to spread the word!
Also wanna mention that if you couldn't make a show but still want a piece of the fun, we have a limited number of tour shirts (designed by PE's Martin Kornick and printed by Sean Tonar) available in men's and women's designs at http://www.district97.net/store/dist...hion-fit-shirt.
