    The PE Calendar

    Many people may not know that we have a Calendar at PE that can be used for announcements and also displays the birthdays and other key items. We are keeping this feature as "by request" only.

    But if you have a concert event or such that you are trying to promote, you'll need to contact one of the administrators (Duncan, Sean, or myself) with your request.

    I would suggest not littering the calendar with Birthdays. Just keep it to tour dates and other important shit.

    The system automatically populates the calendar with the birthdays of those members who put their date of birth into their profile.

    In this case, the fact that birthdays are there may prompt more people to check the calendar.

    tour dates prompt me to check any calendar but already when you pull up November and December, it's just screen names. Anything else meaningful is lost. Just my opinion.

    I want to know why that RosFest idiot gets three birthdays.

    Kind of disappointed that my birthday(4-13) isn't showing up in the calender. I did update my profile too in hopes of reflecting it. Oh well.

    That's because you have told the system to hide your age and date of birth.

    * Go to your profile.

    * Click "Edit Profile".

    * Immediately below your date of birth, you'll see a drop-down box that gives you the option to display whatever you want about your age and birthday.
    Regards,

    Duncan

    OK done. But I couldn't do it your way. I had to go to forum actions then edit profile.

    What a waste of space. What happened to the gig list? Is this just another example of the narcissus generation? Can't we leave this tripe to twatter et al?

    The member in question has not been on PE for years now. I think it's time you let it go.

    I'm referring to a calender that has as much useful information on it as a bog roll Dunc. I'd have thought as an ex-organiser it might piss you off too.

    Why does anyone care about everyone's birthday for fuck's sake? If you know someone you can check their profile. It just seems like another aspect of the self-obsessed social media and selfie culture we are in where cameras are no longer used to take pictures of things but to take them of oneself in a blizzard of tedious positions.

    Rant over but if you know a better site where gigs and festivals are listed that would ne nice.

    Duncan certainly has more patience with certain people than I would have if I were the moderator.

    I would like the calendar to reflect the fact that I like donuts.
