Just thought of another SEVEN decader who has released stuff every decade and is STILL active:
Tony Bennett of course.
Can we find a living EIGHT decader, with recorded output over 8 decades?
Chuck Berry? Well he was most certainly playing in the 40s and was active as recently as 2 years ago, but his recording career started in the 50s and he hasn't released any new stuff since the 80s. So he's disqualified.
B.B.King? Started playing in the 40s. But again his recording career started in the 50s...so I'm still looking.
SIX DECADES:
Stevie Wonder....I think.....but I'm not sure...has he released anything since 2010?

Elton John, who has a new album coming out this month.
Cliff Richard also fits the bill.

Sun Ra, who is dead, still has new material released every now and again, so he would be around 7 or 8 decades (original records from the 40s on, I think). :-)
I'm not lazy. I just work so fast I'm always done.
Hawkwind appear to have missed out by about seven-and-a-half months, unless I am incorrect . . .
Deep Purple, in one form or another

I'm pretty sure Pete Seeger has released new music every decade since the 40s.
SEVEN decades of new music from the great Scott Walker (1957-2012 so far)
Well, the OP requested bands, but that appears to have gone south, so I'll go with:
Leonard Cohen
Hammill (AGM)
Hell, they ain't even old-timey ! - Homer Stokes
With an upcoming release Prism will have five decades.
