I, as the listener, devolve into a mindless state when listening to certain bands: Yes, Genesis, Wobbler, etc.

The music is obviously very mindful. In fact, Wobbler might be my favorite 21st Century Prog band...

But let's be honest: there are bands that push the envelope in ways Wobbler do not. And I like that.

    Both excellent!

Beautifully written review. I may decide not to write a review now and just sum it up with: what Lorne said.

Decided I need the new Wobbler "Dwellers of the Deep". Pre-ordered @ Burning Shed. Was the cheapest option for me. Can anyone explain why the P&P at BandCamp is so high most of the time?

Two tracks from the album were aired on Progzilla radio a couple days ago. “Naiad Dreams” and “By the Banks.”

I enjoyed the pastoral feel of Naiad a lot. Overall By the Banks wasn’t particularly memorable other than the really cool brief Chamberlin piece near the end. But typically Wobbler tracks take a handful of listens before I really start getting into them.

Yes, the postage on Bandcamp was unusually high. Not sure why. It'd be nice to buy it from Bandcamp, but I'll probably preorder it from Laser's Edge if they do a preorder.

To keep Ken from having to look like he is self-promoting, they do have a pre-order in three different formats:

Really nice. I enjoyed that. Very much an early Crimson-esque vibe to it.

Interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts tomorrow. I listened to it about ten times throughout the day today. As of now Naiad Dreams is the standout track. By the Banks is growing on me though.

Hoping that it will actually arrive on time, I don't think I'll have time yet to give it a thourough listen already.

I'll need to listen to the full album a few more times, but as it stands, I prefer the instrumental sections to any of the singing.

If you can't wait for the physical product to arrive, you can listen to the album here:

Today I downloaded it from Bandcamp since I ordered the vinyl there. Gave it one listen so far, but I liked it. Will be giving it more spins in the coming weeks.

Listened (streamed) to it on Bandcamp it still sounds so much like Yes, to the point, that I'd wish they were a full instrumental band.

i'll probably give it another listen in the coming days, but chances are that I'll pass, just like I did with their previous two albums.

^ You're not allowed to not like Yes.

I don't think he sounds that much like Jon Anderson.

It's who he's trying to sound like but it's not close enough to be mimicry.

I see quite a few people saying that but I honestly don’t hear it. Just a different timbre and different style to me.
