Yet, he had at least one suitcase full of money. Combine that with the fact that Ginger had all those clothes and I think her and Ol' Thursty had something going on.
Think about it. All those years watching that show, and none of us knew the true story of Gilligan's Island. MaryAnn's obsession with coconut cream pies (we never did learn where the cream came from, with no apparent livestock on the island.) How about those mysterious out-of town "head hunters" who showed up about the same time every year? Hmmm.
"Lovey" Howell??? Indeed!
Did you know Gilligan's first name is actually Willy? That's true. Look it up.
The Skipper? Did you ever see a photo of him where he doesn't look like he's a friend of Dorothy's? Not that there's anything wrong with it. It was the sixties after all.
Which brings us to The Professor. I bet you he could teach them all a thing or two.
(I'm only sayin')
Does anyone REALLY think the Professor wasn't smart enough to get them off the island? Come on, with Gilligan and the Skipper shacked up doin' their own thing (Little Buddy indeed) and Mr. Howell on a short leash and too old anyway he was fre and clear to be hooking up with Ginger and Mary Ann. Not only did he not get them off the island he was the one sabotaging every rescue that almost did work.
Yeah, I long suspected that Little Buddy and the Skip were into some sort of fantasy about being in the British Navy, minus the rum.The Skipper? Did you ever see a photo of him where he doesn't look like he's a friend of Dorothy's? Not that there's anything wrong with it. It was the sixties after all.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
"Friend of Dorothy's" ? Not familiar with this phrase.
As for The Skipper & Gilligan, in the Navy we had a saying: When you're on the pier, it's queer, but when you're under way, everything's ok!

Friend of Dorothy is a term that has been around that community for decades. Dorothy of course is a reference to gay icon Judy Garland.

Ahhhhh....... Thank you.
My daughters' favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz." As a Christmas gift I purchased all 15 volumes of L. Frank Baum's Oz stories & have been reading to them a chapter a night.
Is "Friend of Liza" another reference?

Gilligan gets high...
"What the hell is this '...and the rest' crap!?"
Tina Louise is 79. Dawn Wells is 74, and is working on an autobiography. Tempus fugit.

And there won't be any shade to cool the monument to prove that we were here. - Gene Parsons, 1973
Ginger by a mile for me.
I bought The Man From U.N.C.L.E. box set when it first came out. That was my favorite show as a kid, hands down. Of course it made
more of an impression as a nine year old in 64 than currently, but the writing still holds up. Lots of great guest stars too. Solo was
the man, though Illya was great as well. Illya had the tough assignments and did lots of eating. Solo got most of the girls, but Illya did
all right as well.
Well played Dr Zaius, well played.

"And what's that thing Mr. Howell did with his cigar?"
Robert Vaughn used to be a customer where I worked. Just a real nice, respectful, unassuming guy. Like you, I was a fan of the show as a kid. When I first met Vaughn, it was like meeting a superhero. Both he and McCallum are still active. Wouldn't mind seeing some kind of U.N.C.L.E. reunion.
I heard an interview with Bob Denver years ago during which he recounted the reason why the show's opening theme song changed between seasons 1 & 2. Apparently, due to the show's commercial success, Denver felt powerful enough to insist that "the Professor & Mary Ann" be inserted or he would walk away from the show. The producers blinked...
And, as for BJ's... Well, lets just ask this question: who has more facial wrinkles & who doesn't?
