My posting was meant as a general 'warning' as to where things are at and what's in the air nowadays for folks who think there will just suddenly be 'another' one of these festivals. There likely won't be.

That old Cardiacs group seem to put on annual events with the younger bands as the focus (Thumpermonkey, Prescott, Trojan Horse, etc).

Listened to it again yesterday, really impressed, excellent production and the music comes to life with live interpretations. Reminds me of the surprise I felt when listening to the Yugen live album Mirrors. I wasn't expecting to be so pleasantly surprised by that one.

I think their last album Repetitions of the Old City - II (2018) is a fine place to start. It is a masterpiece.

Repetitions of the Old City [Parts 1 & 2] - their most "progressive" and arguably also most impressive release.
All My Friends - like an Americana-headmovie song-cycle and to my mind their finest release overall.

The others are ALL good as well.

Hey, so there have been some updates recently on the Jack O' the Clock front. Firstly, Damon Waitkus composed a song for the guitar and drums duo The Living Earth Show that has been released. It uses heavy, distorted instrumentation, which is unusual for Damon, but it still manages to sound like him, in my opinion. . They've also announced a new album, to be released in 2021 called "Leaving California". Damon is also in a new duo with Ben Spees of The Mercury Tree, called "Ventifacts". Lots of exciting stuff going on JOTC world.
